Weekend Wrap Up

Friday, my friend Jessica came over and we went shopping.  Her baby shower was Saturday morning and she wanted to find an outfit to wear.  We took Makenzie to Mimi's house to stay the night and then hit the stores.  Jessica didn't find anything but I got a few things.  We went and got our nails done.  I had just gotten a pedicure a few days ago, so I decided to get a manicure.  I never get a manicure but I really liked it.  I think I'm going to start getting them regularly.  We met the boys at Saltgrass for dinner.  I got so sleepy at dinner and just didn't feel right.  I actually ended up falling asleep on Scotty's shoulder.  I should have known something was up.  When we got home I went straight to bed.  Saturday morning I woke up with an upset stomach and several trips to the bathroom--I know TMI.  I had to get up and get ready and head to Jessica's shower that I was helping throw.  Everything looked great, and she had a wonderful shower.

After the shower I went and picked up Makenzie from Mimi's house and headed home to take a nap.  When we woke up it was time to head to Brynlee's 1st birthday party.  Angela had everything decorated so cute and Brynlee looked adorable.  Everyone hung out in the backyard where the bounce house was.  It was fun and Makenzie had a blast.  She made a new friend named Caden.  He is 3 and cute as can be.  She kept going up to him and rubbing his back and reaching her arms up for a hug.  One time she had her arms around him and a song came on and then both started dancing--it was cute, but too much for this mama to handle.  LOL  She's such a flirt.
She kept stealing all the golf clubs that the boys were playing with and running off with them.  LOL   She knows how to get the boys to chase after her.  We left early because I still wasn't feeling so hot and wanted to get home and lay low after a busy day.
Sunday morning I woke up still feeling pretty bad.  We hung out around the house and Scotty cooked him a steak and potato for lunch.  Kenzie and I hung out outside with him with he BBQ'ed.  Scotty found another wasp nest in her playhouse (there was one a few weeks ago too that he had already gotten rid of) so he sprayed it with wasp spray and then sprayed out the house with the hose.  Well, Makenzie wanted to play in the water hose so we let her.  She loved it and squealed and laughed.

After I was able to wrangle her away from the water hose and inside, it was nap time.  I took a nap with her and woke up to fine out that Laura, Jason and Bella were coming over.  I always love when they come over and the girls always have so much fun, but I still was not feeling well.  They came over and we played outside and Scotty cooked fajitas on the grill.  I didn't eat any....actually hadn't eaten since Friday at Saltgrass.  The girls had fun playing and took turns pushing each other in the car.

Today, I woke up still feeling awful.  I got ready and headed in to work.  I stopped and got a few Gatorade's to take with me.  During our Monday morning meeting I had to leave twice to run to the bathroom and they sent me home to rest.  I didn't protest at all.  I stopped on the way home and got a probiotic and some yogurt and headed home to sleep.  I had just settled into a good nap when I woke up to Scotty calling.  I answered "this better be good", he said there were people out front ready to come in and see the house.  I jumped up, put clothes on, ran around like a crazy person straitening up and grabbed my purse and left.  They were in the driveway when I opened the garage door to leave and had to move their car so I could back out.  I parked down the street and watched waited for them to leave.
Our realtor said they liked the house and want to come back again on Saturday to look at it again.  We also have another showing tomorrow.  We've gotten great feedback and getting lots of showings, just no bites yet.  I went back home and was able to eat some soup and took another nap.  Finally, I got up and picked up my sweet girl.  We went to Sonic and got her a Wacky Pack so I didn't have to cook and then headed to the park to play.

TGIF

Happy Friday!!!  TGIF.....I'm so ready for the weekend.  We have such a busy weekend planned and I can't wait.  This morning got off to a rough start but has already turned around so I'm hopeful for a great Friday.  I left early this morning with the intent to run by Walmart on the way to work and get my groceries (to save a trip after work when it's crowded) and get gas.  I got over halfway to work and realized my wallet was in the diaper bag from going to dinner last night.  I knew I didn't have enough gas to continue on to work and make it home later, so I turned around and headed back home.  When I looked in the diaper bag at the house--no wallet.  And then I remembered....
I had put my wallet in my car door after I paid at the drive thru last night.  It had been there the whole time.  So now instead of being early--I'm late, have to get gas NOW, and no time to stop before work.  Ah, such is my luck.

Last night, we picked up Aunt Korie, Dallas and Arielle and went to Chick-fil-a for dinner.  Dallas fell asleep in the car so we decided to go through the drive thru and have a picnic at the park.

Kenzie was more interested in getting down and playing than eating.  The kiddos had fun and ran and played hard.  Arielle pushed them on the merry go round.  I wasn't sure how Kenzie would like it--but she loved it.  Korie and I tried to get on, but it made us too dizzy--the joys of being old.

We headed home and gave the babies a bath together.  Makenzie loved "swimming" in the Aunt Korie's big bathtub and not being cramped in our little tub.  And, I've been depriving my kid of bath toys.  She was loving all Dallas' cool things.  I'm making a Target run today to get her some new toys for the bath!!
(I have a really cute picture of her "painting" her toes with Dallas' shaving kit brush, but am going to spare her the embarrassment of being naked on the Internet)

Tuesday Tidbits

Today Makenzie had her ENT visit at Childrens Medical Center.  Scotty picked her up and brought her to my work so I could take her (he had to go back to work).  Surprisingly she didn't cry the whole way....I should have known it was too good to be true.  We got there and I decided to just carry her in and not bring the stroller.  We went in through the misting rain and found the clinic and got checked in, only to hear my very new potty training daughter say "POOP" very loudly for the whole waiting room to hear with toots to go along with it.  No big deal I though, I'll just change her......No diaper bag.  In my decision to leave the stroller in the car I left the diaper bag with it.  So back down to the car we go.  I grabbed 2 diapers and realized that her bag that she takes to the babysitters doesn't have wipes in it because Mrs Jennifer keeps the wipes at her house.  Crap (literally).  Back inside we go.  I change her in the bathroom and luckily they had a thing of wipes by the changing table in the bathroom.  It hardly could have been classified as a "poop" but I changed it. We spent a good 30 minutes in the waiting room.  She got very restless and very tired of my confining her in my lap.  My arms are sore from wrestling her. (I put a pack of wipes in my car when we got home)
Don't let this sweet face fool you.  She looked adorable but was a stinker.

We got back in the exam room and waited another 30 minutes, but at least it was a change of scenery.  Then the rest of the "poop" she called out about made its appearance.  Now I have no diapers and was worried the whole time she would need to be changed again.  There was a big window that she liked to stand on the window sill.

The Dr came in and was super nice.  He did a strep test and we will wait to find out the results.  He wants her to see an infectious disease doctor, she has such a scary title but I know its not really a "big deal".  If it's positive we will do a long course of antibiotics and then plan on taking her tonsils out this summer.  If it's negative we will wait until she gets it again to do the antibiotics, but bottom line it looks like the tonsils come out this summer.  Poor thing has had strep throat 8 times in her 20 months of life.  That's a lot.  All that waiting for a 10 minute exam, but at least we are established there and he is the BEST ear, nose and throat doctor in the area.  Makenzie slept the whole way home, thank goodness.
We got home and made dinner.  She tried to fight me with it and normally I wouldn't have played around, but I was so beat down from the last 3 hours--she won.  I put her "baby animals" (that's what she calls them) and put them on the table around her plate.  She would put the food on her fork and then give each animal a bite and make their sound (moo, oink, nay, bah) and then move on to the next animal until each one got a "bite" then would finally eat the bite.  Hey, whatever works! She ate her whole plate.
Makenzie loves animals right now.  She knows all the animal sounds and can pick out each animal when you ask her too.  I found this farm at a garage sale and she loves it.
And last.....nothing sweeter than a little girl and her puppy.  She loves to give him kisses and will squeal and laugh when he "kisses" her back.

I wanted to write down a few new things Kenzie has been doing lately.  She will give us hugs now and pat our backs.  It is so cute.  There is nothing better than feeling her little arms squeezing my neck and patting my back.  When she holds her babies she will pat their backs too.  We have mastered naming all body parts (hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, cheek, chin, arms, hands, feet, legs, fingers, toes, belly, back, booty, and boobies).  She finally can throw a ball forward and has started kicking balls too (after playing with her cousins this weekend).  She has added tons of new words.  They are so random.  She pointed and said towel while I was folding towels.  She asks for her "blankie" and says "diaper" when I change her.  She points out her "booboo" and makes us kiss it, anytime she thinks about it.  She has so many other ones but I can't think of them right now.  She counts to 3 now.  I'll start with "One" and she says "toooo" and "tree"....I absolutely love her little voice.  She can get through the whole song of Patty Cake and do all the motions.  (It may be a language only mama can understand, but the motions are down perfect)  We are working on colors, and she has yellow, red, purple, and "geeeen" down.  She knows circle and triangle and we're working on some others.  She is so smart and so funny and I love spending time with her and teaching her.  I'm so lucky to be her mommy!

Family Fun Night

We had such a relaxing evening last night.  I picked up Makenzie and a pizza and we headed home to play.  We were outside driving in her car when Scotty got home so he took over and raced her up and down the street.  She loves to go fast and giggles and honks her horn.  It's so funny.  When he slows down she yells "more more".  We moved to the backyard to play on the swing set.  She must be used to me taking her pictures so much and would come stand in front of me and say "cheese".  She cracks me us.  We finally went inside and ate pizza--big girl ate a ton of pizza.  I cleaned out the top of my closet to make it "appear bigger", and I turned around to see this....
She's so funny.  We have 2 showings on the house today.  That makes 4 so far in just over a week.  Our realtor says that a great start.  The feedback we have gotten has been good.  They both said it's a very clean house and shows well.  Both had just started looking and not ready to purchase just yet and one said they think it's a little small.  Fingers crossed!!

Makenzie's birthday shirt and hat came in the mail yesterday.  I'm super excited to see things coming together!!  I have been working on the banners and they are adorable!!!  Now I just need to settle on a place to have the party!!!

A day at the Zoo

We had a perfect weekend!!  It started off by getting my hair done by Laura.  She came over with Bella and took care of my nasty roots.  It had been way too long since the last time!!!  Mimi came over and picked up Makenzie and took her home with her to spend the night.  Scotty and I had our anniversary dinner planned for that night.  Scotty came and picked me up and we headed to Al Biernat's.  It was delicious.  We sat on the patio and had perfect seats to people watch.  So many fancy cars and fancy people!!  They brought us out the most amazing chocolate cake I have ever had and they wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate around the plate.  It was a perfect night.

Today we woke up bright and early and went to pick up Makenzie and headed to the zoo.  The weather was perfect and we had a blast.  She told every animal we saw "hi" and waved.  She fed a giraffe and loved it.  She kept saying "more, more" for more lettuce to keep feeding him.  She fed goats out of her hand.  She loved it.  We stayed for about 4 hours and headed to MiCocina for lunch.  Kenzie had just fallen asleep in the car so I was worried she wouldn't be in a good mood, but she was wonderful.  She kept standing up and giving us hugs and kisses and ate pretty well.  On the way home we drove through our neighborhood and looked at houses.  We found some good ones--just need our house to sell so we can really look.  I laid Kenzie down for a nap when we got home, and I laid down for a nap too.  That girl didn't sleep a wink.  I heard her singing over the monitor and saying "hi mama hi" and "hi dada hi".  That's one of her favorite things to say and I love it.  I got her up and we played the rest of the day.  It was a perfect day!!
