Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!  New Years fell on a Tuesday this year and Scotty had to work bell to bell (8:30-9).  The Hogans came over and we hung out and cooked a bunch of food.  We went outside and made s'mores and waited until the dads got home.

Bubs was so excited to stay up late and wanted to see the fireworks we were going to do, but he fell asleep right before it was time.  I felt bad and ended up waking him up and taking him outside so he could see.  We came in and toasted to the new year and then called it a night.

2019 was such a good year for our family.  We made tons of memories and we are looking forward to see what 2020 brings.

After Christmas blur

The days between Christmas and New Years is such a blur.  It's all about surviving.  We have no clue what day it is or what the date is.  The house is a disaster and the kids are WILD.  Our gift to Rylee was getting her ears pierced so we took her to do that and then Autumn and I had a sitter come over so we could go run some errands with NO KIDS.
That Sunday we went to pick out our puppy.  We all went and snuggled and played with puppies until ultimately the puppy picked us out.

Landon was laughing so hard at the puppies tail wagging while he was holding him.  We had intentions of picking a girl dog but a boy puppy with a red collar just kept coming up to snuggle and his face is the CUTEST.

Here he is and we are all smitten with him.  We will get to bring him home in 2-3 weeks!  Afterwards I took Madison on a little date just me and her. I was so excited to get some one on one time with her.  She wanted to go to the bookstore and pick out a few new books, then we had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings and then went to SweetFrog for dessert.  We had so much fun and laughed so much.

Monday I took the girls skating.  Landon went to Bebe and Papa's house to play while we were gone.  I was worried how Madison would do but she took her time, went SLOW, and had fun.  We had the place to ourselves for about an hour and then it got a little crowded.

Merry Christmas

Christmas morning came very early.  The girls tried to get us up at 4am.  That was a big NOPE.  I told them to go back to bed and they came back in around 6.  Apparently they stayed awake and played with their stuff Santa brought.

Madison opened the blinds for me and noticed Santa brought them a trampoline.  The kids ran outside and jumped for a little while and then got dressed to go out front and try out their new toys.  Landon LOVES driving his jeep and actually is a pretty good driver.

Bebe and Papa came over and we exchanged presents with them.  My mom collects "Cows on parade" and Makenzie picked her out an astronaut cow.  It was my year to give my dad the infamous paper weight.  I froze it in water and his reaction was priceless.

Madison got some skates and was so excited to try them out.  She definitely needs some practice but had so much fun trying them out.  The Hogans came over and we exchanged gifts with them and they made a big dinner.  It was so nice having our family and best friends over to celebrate.  Rylee ended up spending the night and the girls rode their hover boards around instead of walking.  I tried the hover board and just cannot do it.

Christmas Eve

Scotty had to work late so I took the kids to church for the candle light service.  I put Landon in childcare but kept the girls with me and they really enjoyed it.

Afterwards we met Scotty at grandma and grandpas house to celebrate Christmas with them.  We had a great time but I didn't get a picture.  We came home and put out reindeer food and set out Santa's cookies.

Christmas festivities

Bebe and Papa came and picked the kids up to go look at Christmas lights.  They did this last year and the kids still talk about it.  They went in their jammies and had popcorn in the truck.

Sunday after church I took Kenzie on a little date just me and her.  We went to the bookstore and she picked out a few books.  Then we went and got a pedicure and then had lunch.  It was nice getting to spend one on one time with just her.

I took the kids to Bebe and Papa's house to bake and decorate cookies.  They made a huge mess and I'm glad we went there to do it.

Basketball, program and Christmas parties

The girls both started basketball.  This is Madison's first time to play and she has been so excited.  I didn't get a picture at Makenzie's practice because I was too busy chasing Landon around.

Makenzie had a 3rd grade performance at school.  This is so outside her comfort level.  She won't look at us, smile, dance....nothing!!!  Afterwards we saw her art project she has been working on.

Landon had his Christmas party at school.  Bebe went with me and he was so excited to see us there.

The girls had their Christmas class parties a few days later.  Bebe was able to come again and it was fun to see them with all their friends.
