Busy day

We started the day by waking up early and doing some cleaning(I'm talking 3 loads of laundry, loaded and started the dishwasher, vacuuming, and picking up) and then off to a birthday party at 10:00! Our friend, sweet Allison, turned 3 today! It was the cutest fish party. Her mommy, Melissa, did a wonderful job and we had a blast!

After the party, we came home so Makenzie could take a nap! While she slept I tackled the front room some more! I listed some things on a Facebook garage sale site and sold it all! Yay!  All that's left is a bed frame and a day bed frame! Still a lot of work to do in there though!  When she woke up we headed off to my brothers work to swim with Aunt Mel and the boys, Caleb and Jacob!   We had a blast and it was so good to catch up with them!
They had a little birthday party for Kenzie up stairs after we went swimming!  She was very spoiled! She got a Minnie Mouse doll, Minnie Mouse pillow, dress up dress, a bunch of dress up shoes, and Minnie Mouse shoes! Se loved it!!
We stopped off at Korie's house to visit on the way home and then came home to do Kirby's medicine and feed him dinner!  Kenzie and I were hungry so we headed back out and went to Chick fil a and had a pick it in the car before heading into Target!
I'm finally able to lay down after being on the go all day!  It was a wonderful day--nothing better than hanging out with family and friends!!

Attack of the lizard

OMG....I was working on hanging up clothes for the consignment sale and as I walking out I happened to see a giant alligator like lizard on the wall.   Ok, so he was about 3-4 inches long and blended in with the wall.  So of course I dropped what I was holding and got my super brave husband to come catch it.  One of us is going to have to become more tough or our daughter is going to grow up a wuss too.   He brought in 2 cups to try and trap it (not the route I would have gone if I was brave enough to attempt it) and I took my position with one foot on the bed and the other foot on a tote in front of the bed ready to video him.  He tapped him and the lizard took off running across the side of the wall and looked like he was going to jump and fly right across the room at me.  I jumped into the crib that was next to the bed and screamed.   He in fact, just fell off the wall and I believe went into the closet but I'm pretty sure the super dog Ike ate him.  I cut the end of the video off where I'm bossily directing my husband to hurry and get him and him professing that I scared him when I screamed.  LOL  it was comical.  I still made Scotty take everything out that closet just to make sure he wasn't in there, but I really do think Ike ate it--at least that's what I'm choosing to believe.

17 Weeks

How Far Along: 17 weeks 1 days

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an onion.  About 5 and 1/2 inches long and about 5-6 ounces.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +3 pounds

Maternity Clothes: I am mostly wearing maternity shirts and "big girl" shorts or capris.  My scrubs are getting super tight in the tummy, but I'm trying to hold out a few weeks before I start wearing regular shirts to work.

Gender: I don't know if it's just because I think a baby boy would be so fun, and that's why I tend to only look at or think about boy things, or if it's a mommy feeling that I'm having a boy.  I did the same thing when I was pregnant with Makenzie, I only looked at girl things.

Movement: I can feel more and more little kicks.  They are really low and feel like bubbles (but I don't have gas...lol)

Sleep: I have been sleeping pretty well.  My back aches some so it takes a little bit to find a comfortable position, but when I do I sleep all night.

What I miss:  Being able to bend over with ease.  My tummy is getting pretty firm and I don't realize how hard it is getting to bend over without thinking about it.

Cravings: Still Mexican food and avocado.

Best Moment This Week: I started cleaning out the closet that will be the baby's closet.  It feels good to start getting things ready, and only 3 more weeks until we find out what we are having.

ENT appointment

Kenzie had another ENT appointment today!  Scotty brought her up to my work a little early so she could see her pediatrician first for a rash that has lingered--turned out to be nothing--but, her tonsils were swollen and red and had white patches!  Strep freaking throat again! For the past 3 days she has been very fussy at night and not really wanting to eat and then got a runny nose! In the back of my head I wondered if it could be strep but tried not to even think about it!  So annoying, but at least she had her ENT appointment the same day!!

We saw Dr. McClay and he is the BEST ENT in the metroplex!  I feel so confident with him as her doctor!  He immediately said her tonsils needed to come out when he looked in her throat! They are so big and swollen and make her breath so heavy and snore!  We scheduled her for October 17th!  I hate the thought of her having surgery but I know in the long run it will be worth it!!
It was a long afternoon for us with having two doctor appointments and a long drive home! I had to rush home to let the dogs out and give Kirby his meds and just now at 8:00 getting to sit down!

Video Updates

Here lately I have only had time to blog from my phone and haven't been able to post video's so I wanted to post a few before too much time passed!!

I was folding clothes in Kenzie's room and noticed her getting books down from her bookshelf and read them on her bed.  You can barely hear her, but her sweet little voice is "reading".  I love how she keeps flipping the book around.

Kenzie randomly started singing a song and then would fall down at the end.  I couldn't figure it out, but Mimi knew exactly what she was singing.  Ring around the rosie.  They must sing that at school because I never have with her.  She wanted to sing it with everyone.  So sweet!!

Kenzie saw a motorcycle drive by and started saying "cycle, cycle mama", and then said "papa has a cycle too" so of course I had to have her say it again so I could send it to Papa.

Dog days

I was finally able to get these two to stand still and together long enough to get a picture.  Of course Makenzie had to wear her reindeer slippers....picking my battles!!  Makenzie is starting to come around with Ike and not running from him when he looks at her.

Kirby has his diabetes check today, so we picked him up after work.  His sugars are better than the first visit but not where he wants them.  We now upped him to 4 units of insulin twice a day.  He gained some weight and is at 9 pounds 4 ounces now compared to the 8 pounds 10 ounces 2 weeks ago.  His Dr. is going to let us go 2 weeks this time in between check ups.  I think we are on the mend, just not fun doing the whole insulin thing.  It's not hard and it doesn't hurt him, just time consuming and remembering not to make plans after work because I have to be home to make him eat to give him his shot.  He's worth it though!!
This is my sweet boy when he was a baby!!  He is such a sweet dog and I just love him so much!!!

Long weekend

I love a long weekend!  It means more time with my family and then a shorter work week to follow!!  We started it off by going to a football game to watch Shannon's niece cheer for varsity!!  It was super hot but fun!! Her niece is adorable and it made me miss my high school cheering days!!
She is cheering in this picture! She would wave her arms and say "go team"
We went to Raising Canes afterwards to eat! It was so yummy! We are getting one in Rockwall and I am so excited now!!

Saturday, we were supposed to have our first Saturday gymnastics class, but we were too tired! We didn't get to bed until after 11:30 the night before and slept until after when we would need to leave!! Oops!  We went to Laura's house and she did my hair! I love getting my roots done! Makes me feel so much better about my hair!!  The girls played! It took awhile--almost 5 hours--no naps, they did great! I love seeing them play together, and Bella just started coming to Makenzie's school on Fridays!
She got her first Starbucks too on the way...
Just milk!!!  She thought she was something!!  We went and visited with Bebe and papa afterwards!  Bebe and Makenzie decided that her official name is going to be Bebe!  I kinda already knew that, but they made it official!!!

Sunday, we woke up and spent the rest of the morning being lazy dozing off and on! It was ridiculous, lazy, and boring!  Finally we decided to get up and get out of the house!! We went and had lunch and then did a little shopping. I got the cutest picture for her room and then we went and got some ice cream!  Shannon met us at the house and then Korie and Sue came by and us girls left and went thrift store shopping!!

Today, Bebe came over and brought Ike with her! We are babysitting him while Bebe and papa go on vacation this week!  We spent the day shopping at grapevine mills mall! We had so much fun and Kenzie did great!  Kenzie kept asking Bebe to ride a train that went around the mall, over and over--until she saw the carrousel!

This girl loves a carrousel!!  She kept saying "thank you Bebe, luv you". It was so sweet!  When we got home and Bebe left (and I tried to control the circus that was a 2 year old, a half blind 8 pound dog and a huge 80 pound dog that ran circles around each other) I went into major cleaning mode!  I purged her closet and got all her summer clothes that she won't need anymore and moved things around! I hung up her new picture and moved her bow holders!  Her room is really starting to come together!
I love her new picture!!  I still have a lot to do, but I just love it already!!! By the end of the day, the 2 dogs and Makenzie were able to be in the same room!  Kirby stays on the couch and Makenzie steers clear of Ike!  I can just imagine how big and scary he looks to her! He's bigger than her!
It was a wonderful day--a wonderful weekend!!

Just a random thing--Kenzie is attached to these reindeer house shoes I got her at the last consignment sale! She wears them everywhere!
It's so funny!!!

I also started cleaning out the babies closet! It is jam packed of all my craft stuff! I moved my big bins into the laundry room, which also made me have to clean the laundry room!!
I need to organize it all but at least half of the closet is emptied.

Don't be fooled--the other half is piled from the ceiling to the floor of--crap! We have a garage sale planned in 2 weeks and I have tons to put in it!!!
