Baby shower weekend

Yesterday I met Bebe at Makenzie's daycare! She had taken a half day and wanted to get Kenz but didn't have a car seat!  We ran a few errands and came home to play!  Once Kenzie went to bed, Bebe and I (mostly Bebe) got busy in Madison's room!  We finished a tutu skirt for her table, hung up tissue balls in the corner, finished and hung her bow holder and made some flowers!  It's finally finished!!!

Today was my baby shower!!! We woke up early and headed out for donuts!! The baby shower was perfect! A bunch of my friends and family came and celebrated sweet Madison! Shannon, Korie and mom did such a good job at planning a perfect party!!!  Kenzie helped open all the gifts and stole 2 lovies and a blanket!  Stinker! Poor Madison is never going to be able to have anything soft or a blanket!  I have a few pictures on my camera that I will post later! We loaded up and came home so Kenzie could take a nap and mom and I unpacked and made piles of everything Madison got and I made a list of what was left to get that I needed!!  We headed out to Hobby Lobby and Target when Kenzie woke up!  I used gift cards and got most of everything else that I needed!  Bebe headed home and Kenzie and I went home to wait on daddy to come home with dinner!  I got a few totes out of the garage to go through and Kenzie helped me by pulling each outfit out one at a time and say "this is cute mama" and "this is Madi's, it's cute".  She was cracking me up.  I did 3 loads of baby clothes laundry and have at least 3 more loads already lined up for tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow my mom and dad are coming over to put together the trampoline, finally!  Poor Kenzie has had to look at it everyday sitting by the back door since Christmas!  My plan is to wash and install the car seat, find a missing part of the pack n play, and bring in the remainder baby stuff still in the garage!  Once that is done, I'm "ready" for Madison to come! My bag is packed, minus her coming home stuff and bows, but we could manage!  I'm still hoping I can make it until at least Feb 1st if not until my induction on the 6th!  I'm really nervous about my water breaking and going into labor. I think because I didn't have that with Makenzie!  I was induced with her while at a regular dr appt so I never had the surprise "I'm in labor" thing!  I know everything will be fine, but I would really like to just make it to my induction and not feel like a walking time bomb for my water to break and the mad rush to make arrangements for Kenzie, get everything ready and loaded and to the hospital!!!  Fingers crossed she will stay in there cooking a few more weeks!!!!

Exhaustion

I'm so tired.  I have not slept in a week.  I have trouble falling asleep and then wake up a million times to pee and can't fall asleep when I get back in bed.  Scotty has been snoring which makes me so mad, even though I know he can't help it.  It's terrible.

Korie and Dallas came over to play tonight.  It was nice to not have to try and entertain Kenzie all night by myself.  I'm so tired and I know my fuse is short with her.  Good thing she has been a sweet girl this week. (Knock on wood)  We finished up a few projects for Madison's room and fed the kiddos dinner and then it was bath time for Kenzie after they left.  Since it's been so cold and she's getting over a little cold, I decided to blow dry her hair tonight so she didn't go to bed with wet hair.  She thought she was something sitting up there getting her hair done.

She sat real still and kept smiling at herself in the mirror.  Love her to pieces.  Yesterday we played with her babies all night.  She likes to take all their clothes off.  We have not one baby left in the house with clothes on.  It's so weird.

Monday night I was so tired that I laid on the couch all night.  I tried anything to keep her occupied that didn't involve me having to get up.  I kept doing "This little piggy" to her toes and she was cracking up.  She jumped down and started doing mine.  (Ignore the ugly foot)

She is so sweet.  She has been really good for me in the afternoons and getting ready for bed.  I have been trying to be better at our routine of brushing teeth, reading a book, prayers and then bed. She still is not a fan of brushing her teeth.  Last night Scotty was home and was playing with her while I hung up some stuff in Madi's room.  Kenzie told him it was his turn to brush her teeth but then was not cooperating at all.  I went in there to take over and she was pissed.  She did her big cry and then held her breath.  I just stared at her and didn't react.  I told her when she was finished we were still going to brush her teeth.  She still didn't let her air out, so I gave her a little puff of air in her face and she finally let it out.  I asked if she was ready to finish and she calmly said "yes mama".  Little rat.  I don't know if it would have escalated into her passing out or not, but maybe staying calm like that and not showing a reaction to her makes her not let it get to that point--who knows.

She has also started saying "Whoa nelly".  I say this all the time.  I guess she finally has picked up on it and it is so cute.  I also have heard her saying "No way".  It's so cute.  She cracks up after she says it.  She is so cute.

35 Weeks

How Far Along: 35 weeks 1 day

Size of baby: Madison is about the size of a pineapple, or another source says a large cantaloupe.  She's over 20 inches long and about 5.5 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm guessing about 20 pounds.  My appointment is next Tuesday and we will know for sure!

Maternity Clothes: Full on maternity clothes.

Gender: GIRL  Madison Grace Smith

Movement: Lots of moving, all the time.  She does lots of flips and rolls and punches.

Sleep: Not good, not good at all.  I have not slept all week.  I fall asleep and then wake up to pee, wake up from Scotty's snoring, wake up from Makenzie rolling over in bed and making static on the monitor.  Each time I wake up results in having to pee and then hours of being awake before being able to fall asleep.  It's terrible.

What I miss:  Everything!  I'm just about over being pregnant.  I'm just having a pity party this week.  She hurts me, bad, when she rolls and kicks.  There is no room in there for her to move which results in very low pressure and pain.  My hips hurt so bad so I'm waddling when I walk.  My heartburn is back and drives me crazy.

Cravings: Ice cream.  Still orange sherbet.

Best Moment This Week: Madison's room is just about finished.  I spent all weekend washing her clothes and finishing up on the decorations.  Tonight when I finish blogging I'm packing my hospital bag.  I want to be as prepared as I can get at this point in case she comes early.  I really feel like she will come early.  I didn't feel this way with Makenzie.  She feels giant and I'm way more uncomfortable.  This fear of her coming early does not help with my anxiety and leads to a wondering mind when I should be sleeping!!  Ahhh!

Kid free weekend

Friday after work I picked Kenzie up and took her to Bebe and Papa's house to spend the night!! She was so excited to go see them!  I came home and worked in Madison's room and washed and hung a lot of clothes!! I met Scotty for dinner when he got off and it was so nice to eat dinner slowly and focus on each other!  We're so old and boring--we talked about investments and money and the kids!

Saturday I had my hair done by Laura!  I love getting my hair done. I feel so much better without having roots, plus she washes and straightens it for me!! I came home and did some more stuff around the house and decided to run back out to hobby lobby and Joanne's to get supplies for a few projects I decided to do!  Kenzie called me when she woke up from her nap and said she was staying the night again!!  Lol. She was so cute! We always call Bebe on FaceTime but it's so fun to be on the other side and have her calling me!! Scotty and I got to have another nice dinner together!!

This morning we woke up and headed to breakfast!  I guess all we do when we don't have Kenzie is go out to eat--lol! Madison started moving ALOT and it was hurting me, I almost couldn't sit still in the booth! I wasn't able to eat much either! We went home and I laid down and waited on my girl to come home!! She came in with a ball of energy! She was so happy to see us as were we to see her! I missed her so much!!  We spent the afternoon playing and then Kenzie and I took a nap!!  I woke up feeling better and painted a table for Madison's room and hung up the tie backs for the curtains!!
Not the best picture, but it looks really cute!  After Kenzie went to bed I started on the tutu skirt for the table!  It's easy but time consuming, and I ran out of tulle!
It isn't fluffed out but I took a picture to send to my mom so she could see !  It's cute!!  Still have a few things to do in there, but I feel a lot better about how things are coming along!  The goal is to get her car seat cover washed and the pack n play set up and wiped down from being in the garage!

Resolutions

I am so excited, and nervous, about 2014!  Expecting a new baby and having a 2 1/2 year old could make a stressful year--but we are going into it so excited and positive.  I have thought of some resolutions for myself and my family!

1) Be more patient.  I feel like I lose patience very quickly!  Mostly with Kenzie, or even Scotty!  I know I can do things easier and faster by myself rather than waiting for someone to do it or help! But I am going to ease up and be more patient and appreciate the fact that she is only 2 and is learning and she does so by "helping".

2) Be a better mother, wife and friend.  There is always room for improvement in all those areas, including daughter, sister, employee, ect.  I want to put more effort into my relationships and be a more active participant!  I am so lucky to have the best friends, family and job that a girl could ask for and I want everyone else to feel the same way about me!

3). Save more money and invest in our future.  We are lucky enough to have a roof over our head and warm food in our tummys, when I cook, and still be able to spend a little on ourselves and eat out frequently!  I want us to be more frugal and money conscience!  It is important to start investing in our future and our childrens college education!  I would like to not put my paycheck in our bank and have that money to distribute between savings, investment, and college!

4) Make healthier choices.  As a family we need to make better food choices and be more active!  My goal is to cook more healthy dinners and have leftovers for lunch! This would cut down on eating fast food junk.  We need to have healthier snacks and teach our daughters to make healthier food choices.  I would like to take a walk everynight with the girls, or anything that gets us active together as a family!

5). Slow down.  I feel like I rush through everything in life! I rush in the mornings, rush to work, rush through my work day, rush to get Kenzie and always busy when I'm home!  I want to slow down and appreciate the little things during the day! I want to cherish every second I have with my husband and kids!  There will be more time for cleaning and other things, but I want to sit back and soak up every smile, every giggle, every hug and kiss--EVERY SINGLE THING my girls do!

Happy New Year

2013 was amazing but I can't wait to see what 2014 brings.  I got off work early and went to lunch with a friend and did a little shopping before I picked up Makenzie so she could finish her nap.  We spent the evening down at Korie's house to celebrate with them as well as the Poes.  We all had our pajamas on.  The kiddos played and us girls had fondue that was amazing.

I got Korie and Shannon matching pajamas and house shoes for Christmas and I got a matching set too so we decided to wear them.  They look way better on them than I do right now.  My poor shirt wouldn't even cover my belly.  We were able to stay awake until about 10:30 and then Scotty was falling asleep and Kenzie was beyond sleepy and I was tired before we even went down there--LOL.  We headed home and were asleep by 11.  Such party animals we are.

Happy New Year!!!
