Big sister comes to visit

I've waited for this day since we found out we were pregnant!!!  My mom brought Makenzie up to see her baby sister!  She first came to me and asked about my booboo on my tummy! I guess mom had been trying to tell her so she didn't jump on me! She was soft and gentle!! She wanted to hold Madi right away!! We told her she could only kiss her head and rub her arms and legs!  She loves her already and it was so sweet to watch!  She held her for a long time until Madi got a little cranky!!  My poor mom has been a saint! She fully just steps in when I need her and is amazing! I would be lost without her!!  Kenzie was ready for a nap and was getting a little testy!  Scotty had run home to shower and bring back a diaper for Kenzie and as soon as he got back they were ready to leave! (Not before however, Makenzie took a wipey and rolled back on the couch with her legs in the air to wipe her booty, over her jeans, because she had pooped! Then she proceeded to ask/tell everyone to put their legs up so she could wipe them! I almost busted my staples from laughing).
I love this picture my Mom got if their little hands!

Aunt koko came to visit too.
She stayed for awhile and I was able to hop in the shower and get cleaned up!!  Scotty's mom and my niece Destiny came by and visited for a little while!  My brother Austin and his family came by too.
Scotty, Madison and I hung out after that!  We made a plan with the night nurse to feed her every 3 hours and send her to the nursery so I could sleep!  It worked out perfect! Madison nursed pretty well and I was able to sleep about 5 hours all together! Her daddy on the other hand snoozed all night but I let him! He has been so good!  He's an amazing daddy and husband and has helped me so much! I'm getting up and around pretty well, just in and out if the bed are still pretty tough! I'm hoping today my doctor surprises me and let's me go home, otherwise should be outta here tomorrow morning!!

Madison Grace Smith

She's here!!! She is absolutely precious and perfect and we are so in love!!

We got to the hospital at 5:30am and did paperwork and the dreaded IV.  I hate those!  She missed on the first try and had to do it again!!  I walked back to the OR at 7:15'ish and got my epidural!  I didn't even feel that part, thank goodness!  The c-section wasn't bad at all!  It's weird knowing you're being cut while you're awake!  I didn't feel anything until they pushed her out! It was a lot of pressure!
7:58am this little beauty came out crying!!  She was ginormous!  Weighing in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long!!  No wonder she was hurting me when she would move!!
Dr Heckman was wonderful and joked the whole time!!  We just love him!!
We went to the recovery room for about 2 hours and my mom and dad came back in there.
They tag teamed a NASTY diaper!

She looks just like Makenzie did as a baby!!  She is breast feeding well and pooping like a champ!!

It snowed today like crazy! It was so pretty to see when we got to our room!  It also made the roads icy so Makenzie wasn't able to come up tonight!  We face timed her so she got to see her though!!  Mom will bring her up tomorrow to meet her sister!!!

Last day as a family of 3

This picture means the world to me! As excited and anxious as I am to meet my new sweet baby, I can't help but be scared for how out world will change!!  Things are going to be so different--for everyone!  Don't get me wrong, different for the better, but nonetheless...different! I love my little family so much and cannot wait for baby Madison to complete us!!

Today was kind of rough! I got Kenzie up and out the door with Scotty for school and them I cleaned up a bit! I dropped Kirby off to be boarded and then ran back to target to get some blankets I had talked myself out of the day before! I had the worst headache when I got home! I ended up napping for about 2 hours but woke up to awful back spasms!  I think that if I wasn't being induced and having a c-section that I would have awful back labor! It had me in tears today! I ended up getting up just in time for Scotty to bring home Makenzie and dinner!  We ate and played and then it was off to the bath!  My headache came back with a vengeance!  I don't know if it's stress or maybe from not wearing my glasses for a week now. (I only wear them at work to use the computer, but still maybe that's enough to make my eye not strain and give me a headache). We have to be up at 4 in the morning and I pray I'm able to get some sleep!!!!

2 days until baby

This morning I got Kenzie up and ready to go to school.  We slept in until almost 9--it was so nice.  After they left, I got up and went to walgreens to get diapers (for my kid that will never get potty trained) and then got some Starbucks for Korie and I and met up with her at Target!  I went for a few specific things and of course didn't get any if those things but $100 in other things!  Target you win again!!  After all that walking I was DONE!  I was heading home for a nap when a lady contacted me about childcare so I stopped by her house to meet her.  She was super nice, had a homey house, made me feel very comfortable and even better, she only wants 1-2 kids so that means more one on one with my baby! I think she is the one!  I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders as I drove home!  I got right in bed when I got home but wasn't able to sleep.  I did still lay in bed for almost 3 hours which was nice.  When I got up my back was spasming so bad.  Normally it's just when I squat or sit but these were happening walking or standing too!  I kinda started feeling a little crampy too and had a really bad headache!  We had planned to go to a birthday party at Chuckee Cheese and I knew Kenzie would be way too excited to cancle, so I popped some Tylenol and put on a happy face and we went!  She was a terror when she got home from daycare! Neither Scotty or I wanted to take her anywhere but went ahead and took her.   She had a blast and I was so thankful Scotty was home and able to go! There would have been no way I could have chased her around!  All the moms sat together and talked and laughed while the dads took care of the kids! I love these ladies and it was good for the soul tonight to have some girl time!
She was to busy for a picture!
The dads hanging out!!!  It was nice to get out and do something fun since we will be cooped up for the next few weeks!!  Kenzie didn't want to leave of course and was cranky and mean when we got home!  She has been saying "hush your mouth", it actually sounds like "hush your mouf" and it infuriates me! I was trying to get her ready for bed tonight and she said "no mama hush your mouf" and instinctively I tapped her mouth!  They must tell them that at school! Nothing wrong with it, better than shut up, but she's not going to tell me that! Later she was playing with her babies and she told her baby to hush her mouth and I looked at her and was about to get onto her and she said "no not mama baby hush her mouf".  I wanted to laugh because it was really cute but I kept a strait face and told her it's still ugly to say and maybe to just say "shhh" instead! Ugh this kid I swear!!

39 weeks

(I didn't realize I'm wearing the same shirt as last week! Oops!)

How Far Along: 39 Weeks

Size of baby: A watermelon! 19-22 inches long and over 7 pounds!!!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Up 23 pounds.  I regained the 2 pounds that I had lost last week!

Maternity Clothes: Full on maternity clothes.

Gender: GIRL  Madison Grace Smith

Movement:  She moves ALOT! Very sharp painful moves!!

Sleep: Since kicking Scotty out of the bed the last few nights, I have been sleeping ok!  I also have been enjoying my naps during the day!!

What I miss:  Being "normal". I want to be able to roll on the floor with my babies, sleep on my tummy, wear regular clothes, drink a cold beer and not be pregnant!!

Cravings: Still crushed ice.  I have been eating it all day. I read that that can mean an iron deficiency, which made me remember that I'm supposed to be taking an iron supplement from months ago when my hemoglobin was low! Oopsie!  I did tell my doctor that I haven't been when I saw him yesterday! He wasn't happy seeing as how I'm having surgery and need a good iron count!

Best Moment This Week: Being able to stay home and rest and get little things done that need to be done has been wonderful! I don't feel as tired or stressed as I had been! I can't believe that in 2 days we will be holding our sweet baby! It seems surreal!

Super Bowl Sunday

I have the best husband hands down!  He took care of everything today!  We slept in and then cuddled in our bed watching Mickey Mouse with Kenzie!  Scotty volunteered to go to Wal-Mart to get things that we needed so I made him a list!  I even gave him free reign on picking out a lamp for my bedside to wake up and feed the baby by!  He even got my shavers and some other random stuff he's never had to get before!! Kenzie and I laid on the couch together and watched Little Mermaid while he was gone!
She kept rubbing my hand! Sweet girl!  While she napped Scotty and I rearranged her toys a little to make room for the baby's swing!  We even tackled the front hall closet.  You no longer have to protect yourself from falling objects when you open the door! Kenzie was super excited to see the swing set up when she got up!
She has pushed her baby in there all afternoon!  Scotty even made dinner for us tonight! He made chicken enchilada casserole and it was delicious! And he made us cookies!  We were definitely spoiled today! No beer, no parties--just family time watching the game together!! I've got Kenzie in the bath now after watching the half time show and then she's off to bed, and so am I!!  I have my last doctors appointment tomorrow!

Resting

Today we packed up and headed to Bebe and Papa's house for the day!  My poor body is so tired and it was easier to go there and have them help me with her!!
Kenzie mopped the floors! She better be careful or l'll come up with a chore chart for her!! We lounged around and she played all day!
Poor thing! She looks a hot mess!  Her eyes are red and swollen and she keeps picking at the sites under her lip!
She's still happy though and no fever! I tried to lay her down for a nap and she coughed so hard I ended up just getting her and laying with her on my chest! I had drugged her with Benadryl and she was so tired but couldn't sleep due to coughing!  After a picture sent to her doctor, we decided to start her on some antibiotics to cover anything else that it could be!  We stopped to pick up her medicine on the way home, which wasn't ready because they had her marked as allergic to penicillin and needed to wait to ask me about it--hello, could have called!! So we went and got ice cream and waited for it to be ready!  She took her first dose tonight! This is one that she just got cleared for, so fingers crossed all goes well!  I kind of feel better having her on antibiotics anyways this week with Madison coming and all!
When we got home we played with babies, of course!  She told me this baby looked like Kenzie!  They both had owls on their shirts and striped pants! It was really cute that she realized that!!
