Sunday Funday

Scotty woke up early Sunday morning and cooked a big breakfast for us!  It smelled so good and was so nice to wake up to!  Miss Madison would not go back to sleep after her 1am feeding so I ended up swaddling her and cuddling her! I am so not a co-sleeper, I've never liked it and I still don't, but I was so tired and after an hour and a half of re-pushing in her paci while she was swinging I was up for anything!! We slept through my alarm and got up around 6 for her to eat again!  She went right back to bed cuddled up to me!
Mom and dad got us a new baby monitor for my baby shower that is amazing!  I can talk thru it, play lullabies, move the camera around, and other fun stuff!! There are 2 cameras and I can see both babies at the same time!  I could see Kenzie was awake from about 7 on and I thought Scotty would get her (I didn't know he was cooking). Since Madi was sleeping on me and I couldn't get up, I decided to try out the microphone to tell her to get up!  I said "Good morning baby, get your blanket and go in the living room with daddy".  She sat straight up in bed and looked around, grabbed her blanket and tried to open her door but I guess she couldn't get it so she ran back and started crying in her bed.  I ran in there and tried to explain that mommy can see her and talk to her and not to be scared!  I need to go in there with her and have Scotty talk to us so she knows not to be scared!!

We got mom loaded up and she headed home! I may or may not have cried like a baby when she left! She has been so amazing to stay with me this past week!! I already miss her like crazy!  We got ready and headed to Dallas' birthday party!!  It was at a cool place filled with tunnels and slides.
This was just half of it!  Scotty took her around and I sat with the baby! I can't believe that sweet boy is 3 already!  I love him to pieces! Poor Kenzie busted her lip! Scotty got her a juice and she was running back to me and ran right into a table that was the perfect height and she couldn't see it! I felt so bad! She bled a little but her teeth were fine! Two little splits, one on top and one on bottom!  We headed home and cleaned up around the house because we had some friends coming over for dinner!  Laura, Jason and Bella came over and brought an amazing dinner! It was so good and the company was even better!  The girls played and the mommys talked while the boys smoked a cigar!
Kenzie hadn't had a nap all day and was very ready for bed, so we called it a night and Scotty and I watched our show together and went to bed!  This was his first night to be in the bedroom with me and Madison since the hospital because my mom had been in there with me!  I can't wait to get into our own routine and get this girl on a schedule!

Bye bye to Bebe

Im very sad as I write this post tonight! This is the last night my mom will be staying with me!  She is going back home to my dad in the morning!  She has been my saving grace this week!  She came last Sunday night after we got home from the hospital and has stayed with me all week!  She has listened to me cry and my crazy emotions this week, she has cooked and cleaned and dealt with my bipolar 2 year old and she has snuggled my baby!  She will wake up and talk to me as I feed Madi in the middle of the night! More importantly--she's here!  Everything is better when your mom is here!! I love her and appreciate her more than she will ever know!!!

We laid around this morning in bed watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a long time this morning!
Kenzie and I ended up getting up while Bebe took a "nap".  We decided another trip to Target was needed!  We have been to Target almost everyday this week!!  Kenzie was in rare form again today! My sweet girl better come back quick!! Target wiped me out today!  Maybe I lifted more than I should have or pushing the heavy buggy around, but I was tired!
It's hard to shop with a 2 year old in the basket!  There was no room for my stuff and she kept trying to open everything!  All in all she was good in the store....thank goodness! Kenzie fell asleep in the car and I had my fingers crossed she would stay asleep when we got home, but no such luck!  A friend of mine from work came by and brought us dinner, it was delicious!  Bebe took Kenzie outside to jump for awhile but she ended up misbehaving and they came inside!
She isn't getting it that we aren't playing around!  There have been lots of time outs, and voices raised and I've counted to 3 so many times! She's pushing every boundary that we have!!

I have been feeling pretty good and moving around ok!  The pain is nothing (knock on wood) like what I thought it would be, and I think it has been much easier than Makenzie's delivery!  I'm nervous about next week and being on my own! I tend to over due things because I think I can do it myself! And Makenzie doesn't understand why I can't hold her or lift her in the bed!

Happy Valentines Day

It's amazing how just a little sleep can make you feel so much better!  Madison slept last night in her swing and did so good!  I fed her at 12:30 and she went right back to sleep right away and woke herself at 4:30 and went right back to sleep after a bottle and then I got up at 7:30 to get Kenzie ready for school!!
It's valentines day today and she is so excited for her party at school!!!
Mom helped me get taped up today so I could take a good shower and now I'm sitting here getting a much needed pedicure!!!

Yesterday I found a little blood in Madison's poopy diaper! I know from my work that it's probably a milk protein allergy!  Very frustrating!  It's an easy enough fix by changing her formula to a special formula that does't contain the milk protein!  The downside is it is super expensive!  Her doctor wants to watch it for a few days and then we will adress it at her 2 week check up on Tuesday! Fingers crossed it was a fluke thing and will turn out to be nothing!!
I attempted to take a few pictures yesterday but she was not a fan!  I meant to do it in the hospital, but it slipped my mind!

She's such a sweet girl!!!  Even sweeter since I got some sleep last night!!!

My dad came over tonight to visit and brought a delicious roast dinner for us!!  Scotty came home with my February birthstone charm!! I love it!!  We weren't supposed to do gifts for each other this year but I'm so glad he cheated because I couldn't wait to get my charm!!

Big smiles

Does this picture get any sweeter!!! Love love love those dimples!!

Mom and I ran a few errands today and met Korie and Dallas for lunch at Chilis! Little Miss slept the entire time we were gone!! I have been sitting in the back seat with her and I caught that sweet smile while we were out shopping!! We stopped and picked up Kenzie on the way home--that was a chore!  She was happy to see me and I tried to keep her excited about Madison and Bebe in the car, but she threw a mother of all fits because I couldn't/wouldn't pick her up and carry her out!  I'm not sure why this is still a battle for us!  She threw herself on the floor and cried and followed out behind me crying....so embarrassing! Then she showed her rear in the car on the way home and pretty much set the mood for the rest of the night! We got home and battled all night!  Lots of running around crying, from both of us!  I'm emotional and it hurts my feelings when she acts that way and I don't like when she acts like that or backtalks!! Korie came over and Kenzie was so mean!  At one point she was talking to me and mom tried to tell me something, and Kenzie ran over and out her little pointer finger in her face and said "no talking I'm talking to mama".  I thought I was going to die!  We have got to get her under control!  I don't know if it's a "two" thing or a "they brought home a new baby and I don't like it" thing!  Either way I'm going to go crazy next week without my mom!

We also gave Madi her first bath! She was not a fan!  We laid towels down between the sinks and filled one sink with soapy water and the other with clean water and scrubbed her down!!
As I blog this, my mom is pacing the room singing a made up song as she goes to Madison on her shoulder!  This baby doesn't cry all day, but at midnight and 4am she decides to get pissy after her bottles! It's going to be a LONG night!!

Good news

I feel much more rested today!  I got about 6 hours total of sleep last night, it was broken up, but sleep none the less!  We kept Kenzie home today from school and hung out in our jammie's all morning!  Scotty and I took Madi to get her sono of her spine and Kenzie stayed home with Bebe!  We took her to Children's hospital and she did great during the sono!  I kept asking the lady how it looked but she couldn't tell us anything! The doctor called later that afternoon and told us everything was NORMAL!!!  Praise The Lord! Her spinal cord is perfect and the dimple doesn't make a tract to her spine at all!!  We came home and Korie and Dallas came down to visit! Poor Kenzie has been so emotional the past two days! She had a rough time while they were here and maybe Dallas picked up on it, but those two competed for who could cry the most!!! And then they started playing together so sweetly as if they hadn't been just ripping toys away from each other! Gotta love 2 year olds!  Mom cooked hamburgers for dinner and a few of her friends from work came by to visit!

Kenzie has been giving us a run for our money! She has been getting her feelings hurt so easily and will run to the other room and cry, and holler for the other parent that didn't just make her mad!  It's really sad, and frustrating, to watch! I can't help but feel bad for her!  Her whole world just changed and every part of our routine has been thrown off for the past week!  That is the one thing that Kenzie needs--schedule! I try my hardest to incorporate her with anything I do involving Madi!  I let her hold the bottle or pat her back when I burp her!  I'll ask her to get me stuff and she loves that! I did catch her sticking Madi's pacifier up her nose and had to take that away before she gave it to Madi--that was a breakdown! I'm hoping she will get into a new routine and things will settle down!!

First night home and doctor appointment

Oh sweet Madison! She is such a mess already!!!  She always wants to suck on something!!  I was nursing like crazy and nothing was helping in between feeds!  It did however make me sore, cracked and bleeding! The thought of having to nurse her would bring me to tears! I was an emotional wreck!  My mom got there with Kenzie not long after we got home!  There is nothing better than watching her with Madison, or baby Mani as she calls her.
Mom helped get me all taped up so I could take a shower!  I had to tape plastic over my incision to keep it dry! Well when I pulled the plastic off it was full of water, so that was a fail!  I blow dried it on cool until I thought it was dry and hopefully that will be ok.  Korie came down to visit and mom made my favorite dinner--weenies in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes!  Don't judge!  It's been my favorite for as long as I can remember!! It did not disappoint!!
I also made the conclusion that breastfeeding is not for me!  I wanted it to, and hoped we could, but a happy mom makes a happy baby!  Crying everytime I had to feed her was not beneficial to either of us! Not to mention it made it hard to enjoy her! Bebe gave her her first bottle before bed, and Scotty went to get some supplies to help dry up my milk!
She did great!  We all got ready for bed and that's when the fun began!   She woke up at 11 to eat and wouldn't go back to sleep until almost 1:30.  Mom and I took turns bouncing her and rocking her!  We were back up around 3'ish doing the same thing and again at 5.  It was exhausting!  We got up and got Kenzie ready for school and us ready to go to her first doctors appointment!
Big girl weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces ! (The first time we weighed her the camera didn't catch the weight so I went back to redo the picture but she had pooped and had a bottle by then. The  doctor said she is perfect !  She does have a sacral dimple!  It's in her booty crack and can lead to a lot of really scary things!  They look to see if the can see if it is closed, meaning has skin inside at the bottom and stops, if it is open and they don't see a bottom it needs to be ultra sounded to make sure it's nothing serious!  The pediatrician at the hospital said she could see the base and nothing to worry about! Our pediatrician is pretty sure she could and had a second opinion come look and she thought so too but we are going to sono it just to be sure!!  They already called to schedule and we go tomorrow afternoon!!  We ran a few errands on the way home and then came home to nap !  I hear Bebe in there snoring, I mean snoozing away!  I however am rocking a fussy baby!!  Who needs sleep anyways?

Home sweet home

We got to come home today!!!!  Im so excited to be out of that hospital bed and in my own bed!  We had a rough night last night.  Miss Madison was up all night! She tricked us! Yesterday she did so well! She would nurse and then settle down and sleep for 2-4 hours, wake up and repeat!  Until bedtime!  She would nurse for 10 minutes, doze off so I would put her back to bed and then 10-15 minutes later she wanted more--ALL NIGHT LONG! It was exhausting, and painful!!  I think my emotions were at an all time high too because I was a basket case!  I cried about breastfeeding, I cried about missing Kenzie, I cried about everything! It was ridiculous!  On a serious note though, I don't know if breastfeeding is for me!  I'm not throwing in the towel yet and Scotty really wants me to give it a little bit longer! It's so painful and exhausting that I almost dread feeding my baby! (Just for the record--I would never not feed her, I just don't look forward to it) I don't want her to get frustrated with me or me with her, so we are going to take it day by day and see how we feel in a few days after being home!
Her headbands were too big for her little head so she didn't get to wear a bow on the way out! She looked so precious though! I sat in the backseat with her! I wasn't sure if I would be able to get in and out of the car easily but it wasn't bad at all!  When we got home I got a different bow and headband on her.
I just love her! Mom is on the way with Kenzie and I am so excited that she is taking off work and staying with me all next week to get settled in!  She is the best!
