Weekend Wrap Up

Thursday Kenzie and I made cupcakes for Scotty's birthday.  She was so excited to make her daddy cupcakes.

She put the "glitter", aka sprinkles, on them.  She more or less dumped the glitter on the cupcakes.   Friday morning I woke the girls up and we woke daddy up singing Happy Birthday to him.  Scotty turned 31.  He's an old man!!! Later that night we went to eat with daddy and then came home and ate cupcakes and watched him open his presents!!  Saturday morning I woke up not feeling so hot.  So hard to wake up and had a headache all day long.  We ran a few errands and then came home and Bebe and Papa came over.  My dad put shelves up in the girls closets and hung up a curtain rod.  Kenzie fell asleep on her Papa.  This never happens.  She never sits still long enough to fall asleep but she hasn't been feeling well the last few days. 

My mom helped decorated a pumpkin for me to take to work for a contest we have every year.  It turned out really cute.  They stayed home with the girls so Scotty and I could go to dinner.  We had a great time and it was so nice to take our time eating and not have to entertain two littles. Kenzie was coughing so bad that I brought her to our room so I could watch her.  She coughed all night and we were up from 3am on.  We went in the living room and she watched cartoons and played on the I-pad while I dozed off and on in the recliner.  I work up Sunday morning feeling even more terrible than the day before.  My tummy hurt so bad.  Scotty and I went ahead and got the girls ready for their pictures and we headed off to the Arboretum.  Kenzie fell asleep the minute we got in the car but coughed the whole way there.  Right as we parked the car she coughed, a deep cough, and I could tell by the look on her face what was about to happen next.  I grabbed the closest thing I could find, which happened to be Madison's highchair cover, and put it in her lap to cover her outfit and let her throw up.  SO NASTY that I will spare the details.  She was fine afterwards.  Kenzie took amazing pictures.  She smiled for every picture and even asked Tamera to take her picture---that never happens.  Madison on the other hand screamed and cried every time we sat her down.  Lip puckered out, face red and big crocodile tears.  Poor girl.

I was miserable on the way home and all but ran inside the minute we made it home.  Not a good thing.  I laid in bed the rest of the day.  I napped off and on and did what I could in little spurts around the house.  Kenzie fell asleep on me on the couch again while watching the Cowboys game.

Poor girl, I know she doesn't feel good.  I'm going to take her to work with me in the morning to have her looked at and hopefully get her sometime to help her cough.  My fingers and toes are crossed for a settled stomach tonight and a full nights sleep!!!

OMG.....I could play this over and over!!  I love these two so much!!!

Madison is 8 months old

Where has the time gone!!!  I can't believe my Madi Goose is 8 months old.  She is such a joy and I can't get enough of her.  She is so full of personality and fun.

She has 2 teeth on the bottom but her top two are not far behind.  She has a blister on her gum on the top next to the middle teeth so I'm expecting that one to pop through anytime now too.  She does good during the day with the teething but at night she gets a little cranky and tired and doesn't want to drink her bottle.  Instead I mix most of her bottle that she refuses with her oatmeal and a little fruit for flavor and she scarfs it down.

I could eat these toes up.  When she gets excited/nervous she will frantically rub her toes together and leaves big red marks all over her feet.  I've tried to put socks on her, but she just kicks them off.  Madi is so close to crawling. Any day now she is going to take off.  She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth.  She will move her hands forward but her little knees just don't get it yet.  She get onto all fours from a sitting position and get back into a sitting position.  She is trying to pull up and can get up onto her knees.  I can't put her down and walk away anymore.  She scoots and rolls all over the place.

I am very thankful that Madi is a great sleeper.  She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 and sleeps all night until around 6:15 when I wake her up.  She rolls all around her bed and loves to snuggle her blanket.  She goes to bed with her paci but loses it during the night but is able to find it and put it back in her mouth, so that has stopped the middle of the night crying.  She takes 2 naps a day, normally around 10 and then again at 1.  Sometimes on the weekends if we are out and about she will just take one long nap around 12.

She has started to babble alot.  She has the "da da, la la, and ma ma" sounds down.  I love hearing her sweet voice.  Her favorite thing to do right now is blow raspberries.  She is constantly blowing spit on us doing this.  She still adores her older sister.  Makenzie can make her laugh doing just about anything.  In the car she has started trying to make her laugh or distract her to get her to calm down and stop crying.

She is drinking 4-5 bottles a day and each is about 5-7 ounces.  She will have a fruit and oatmeal for breakfast and a veggie for lunch.  I will bring her home and give her some puffs for a snack.  She loves them.  She grabs them and shoves them in her mouth.  I don't think very many of them actually make it and stay in her mouth.  Her high chair is normally full of them.  I will give her a meat/veggie combo for dinner and then she will have a bottle before bed.   When she is done drinking her bottle....she is DONE.  She pushes her tongue out and clamps her lips closed and turns her head.  There is no pushing the bottle back in.

We love her so much and I am so lucky to be her mommy.  She is always so happy and always smiling.  Her bright eyes and toothy smile make me so happy.  I need time to slow down, she is getting too big too fast. 

State Fair of Texas

Wednesday night we took the girls to the State Fair of Texas.  They loved it.  We walked around and looked at everything and ate a bunch of food.  It was a great time.

Kenzie loves Big Tex.  She stood and watched him for a long time.  She was so cute when he started to talk.  She couldn't believe he was talking.  Once it got dark we went to the midway and played games and rode some rides.  She's a daredevil!!  She rode an elephant ride that we rode last year together, but this year she rode by herself.  She also wanted to go on a big roller coaster, and loved it!!!  Madison was perfect and hung out in the stroller the whole time looking around at everything and then passed out on the way back to the car.

A little catch up

Sunday morning the girls gave us the gift of sleep.  Madison didn't wake up until 8:30 and Makenzie slept in until almost 9:30.  It was amazing.  We laid in bed for a little while snuggling.  Kenzie loves hugging on her sister and it's Madison's favorite thing to do as well.   (Anything involving her big sister is her favorite)

We went to The Fatted Calf for breakfast.  It was so good.  Afterwards we did a little shopping at my favorite store right now.....Kirklands.  I got a huge pumpkin that I have had my eye on for a few weeks.  My plan is to get my Halloween stuff down this weekend and decorate the house a little.  We went back home and did some things around the house and played in the backyard for awhile.

As sad as it is, this was the first time we had been in the backyard since moving in.  I picked Korie up and we headed to our volunteer shift for the JBF sale.  We had to sort all the racks of leftover clothes and put them in alphabetical order.  Our shift was from 7p-12a......I was so tired when I got home and my back was aching.  By volunteering and consigning we are able to shop early and get more off what we sell so it is worth it.

Love these girls.   We laugh so much when we are together!!!  Monday we came home and played in the playroom for awhile.  When I put Madi up on all 4's she will rock herself back and forth but hasn't gotten the crawl concept yet.

I guess it' a good thing she isn't mobile yet because the house is not ready for a crawling baby.  Madi and Kenzie played together for a long time.  It's so fun to watch them interact together.

Makenzie always wants to put Madi in her baby doll toys.  She has outgrown her little stroller but she fits perfectly in her baby's pack n play.  Good thing Madi is so easy going and will do anything her sister makes me do to her. Korie and Dallas came over and we painted Kenzie's room.  We did everything the same pink that it was in the old house.  The kids played together and we were able to get it all done.  They came back last night and we painted one wall grey with glitter.  It was mostly Korie that did the painting.  I cooked us dinner and had to do baths for both girls.  After I got Madi to bed, I marked off the wall that we were painting the chevron on and we taped it off and Korie painted that grey glitter part.  We will do the pink part tonight.

It already looks so cute in there.  I can't wait to see it finished and get all her stuff back in there!!!  Before bed we asked Kenzie to straiten up her playroom since they had made a mess.  She went in there for a few minutes and then came out and told us her "tummy hurt because she was cleaning too much".....seriously?? (I actually believe her though because my tummy hurts when I clean too)

A tea party with Bebe and Papa

Kenzie had been telling me she wanted to have a tea party for a couple days.  She told her Bebe that we would have cookies and lemons, aka lemonade, and that we all had to wear bows.  Friday I picked her up from school and we headed to Target to get our supplies.  I had the brilliant idea to bring her little shopping cart and let her push it and put everything in there.  She looked so cute pushing her cart with her groceries in it.

The cuteness wore off during her temper tantrum after not getting yogurt with M&M's.  She screamed and cried and threw herself on the floor and knocked her buggy over.  I picked the buggy up and put my arm through it and grabbed her hand and all but drug her to the check out.  A good mom would probably have emptied the buggy and left with nothing, but I had really cute stuff in there that I needed wanted.  So we joined one of two lines that they had open and those poor people had to listen to her whine and cry the whole time.  And....I bent down to ask her if she "wanted me to take her to the bathroom" in my mommy voice and that stinker flinched away from me like I beat her and started screaming "don't take me to the bathroom" over and over.  She has NEVER had to go to the bathroom for a beating like she was screaming about.  I was embarrassed and then even more mad at her.  I have never been so happy to leave Target in my life.

Anyways, Saturday my mom and dad came over to do some more stuff around the house and they were watching the girls for me while I went to the JBF half price consignment sale.  Before they got there we made cookies and "lemons", lemonade.

We set her table up for her tea party and then she picked out bows for everyone.  It was so cute how excited she was.

 

She loved pouring us tea, over and over.  She would only pour half a sip at a time.  I think she knew the less she poured the more she could refill our cups.  We cheered each other and drank our "tea" and ate our cookies and had a great time.  After the tea party, my dad helped me hang a few things around the house.  It's starting to look more and more like a home.  They stayed with the girls while Korie, Shannon and I went shopping. I got some more great stuff for the girls for a great price.
