Back to reality

Madison started swimming lessons the Monday we got back from vacation.  It's a 2 week class for 30 minutes a day.  She did so good and finished being able to swim and do turnovers across the pool and feeling very confident in her swimming.

One afternoon I took the kids to go swimming and it started raining and we had to run home.  I let the kids play in the rain when we got home and was going to take some pictures of them and noticed my phone got soaking wet in the wagon on our run home.  It immediately went black and wouldn't work and you could see water droplets in the screen.  I loaded the kids up and we went to the AT&T store to get a new phone.  Poor bubs fell asleep in the car, stayed asleep on me the whole time in the store and then still asleep for the ride home.  He was tired.  My new phone has a portrait mode which I'm having fun shooting in.

Kenzie went to a cupcake camp.  She did this last summer and had so much fun and was looking forward to going again.

She had such a good time and her cupcakes looked and tasted amazing.   The rest of our days have been spent swimming and playing outside when it cools down.

Kenzie helped me make dinner one night.  We love taco Tuesday around here.  Madison had her 5 year check up and did great for that.

Beach vacation part 3

Friday was our last day at the beach.  We lucked out with the best weather ever.  We have always lost at least one day due to rain but this week was beautiful the whole time.  The kids brought their boogie boards down to the beach and that kept them entertained for hours.  Makenzie helped Landon "surf" and was just so sweet to him and he had the best time if you can't tell from his smile the whole time.

After showers and naps we headed out for our second attempt at family pictures.  This time we met at a closer beach and there wasn't any wind.  I think the session went perfect and I can't wait to see the pictures.  She has a 45 day turnaround so it will be awhile.
We stopped off at a souvenir shop and grabbed dinner on the way home and then we packed up to leave the next day.  It was a wonderful beach trip with our best friends.

Beach Vacation part 2

Wednesday was another beach day.  The weather was gorgeous and the water was so clear we could see giant fish and turtles and even caught a big crab.  Some people near us said they saw huge sting rays.  Landon did great on the beach and had so much fun playing.

That night we had family pictures scheduled.  Everyone got ready and we headed to another beach and met the photographer.  It became so windy.  Our hair was everywhere and the girls dresses were blowing up.  We were able to take some pictures in the most beautiful forest area and a few on a beach that dunes around it to block the wind.  Our photographer was nice enough to offer us to take some beach pictures on another night before we left town.  We agreed much to our husbands disappointment.  I snapped a few with my phone in between pictures.

We stopped at Bubba Gumps for dinner on the way home.  Everyone was wore out and tired but it was a fun restaurant and everyone had a good time.

Thursday the dads and the big girls went on a fishing trip.  The girls still talk about going last year and have been so excited.

While they were gone, Autumn and I took the littles down to the beach for awhile and then we got cleaned up and did a little shopping.  They all fell asleep in the car so we drove around a little and then headed to the boardwalk to wait on the fishermen to return with their catch.

We were hoping for a better catch than they got last year.....but nope.  They only had 4 (2 of which were given to them) hanging up as their catch.  They still had a great time and we took it to a local resturant and they fried it up for us.

After dinner we walked around and waited on the firework show.  Landon was not impressed and said he wanted to go bye bye.  It was a late night and everyone was ready for bed.

Beach vacation part 1

Sunday, the 9th, we headed to Destin super early.  After many stops we finally made it around 6:30.  It was a long day of driving.  Autumn and I went to the store and got groceries for the week and brought home pizza for dinner.  We called it a day pretty early excited for the beach the next day.

The next morning we were up early and headed down to the beach.  The girls were so excited
but Landon was not a fan.  He lasted about 20 minutes and was OVER it.  I brought him
upstairs for a shower, lunch and laid him down for a nap.  Scotty stayed down with the girls and
then came up and stayed with Landon while I went down for awhile.

Everyone got showers and went to dinner.  This was the only rainy night of our trip.  We came
back and got the kids to bed and the adults played games.  The next day was a repeat of
the day before except that Landon decided he liked the beach and stayed down for a few
hours playing.

That night we went to Fudpuckers for dinner.  It’s a tradition and I love our alligator pictures
every year.

Summer camps

The girls both had camps to go to the week school let out.  Kenzie went to a basketball
camp at the high school and Madison went to church camp.  They were both so excited about going.

I had more pictures of Kenzie at her camp but I had to get a new phone and lost most of
pictures.  While the girls were at camp, Landon and I went to the park and got a 3 mile walk in
everyday.  We stopped to play and feed the ducks along the way.

The girls had a great time at their camps and bubs and I enjoyed our mornings together.  It
was a great kickoff to summer.
