Big girl bed

My big girl is sleeping for the first time in her big girl bed in her new big girl room!!!
She cried for a minute but then went right to sleep!  Thank goodness!!  It makes me a little sad that her baby room is gone!!!
Korie and Shannon came over and moved in all her furniture and set up her bed!  We all went to dinner(that took for ever, we must have a sign on our backs asking for the slowest waiters to take care of us). Kenzie wasn't so sure about laying in the bed at first but was asleep within 5 minutes! Hopefully she stays that way the whole night!!!

Sleepless night

Last night Makenzie had to sleep with us in our bed because her room smelled too much of paint.  I knew it was going to be a pain but it had to be done.  Scotty took her in there and laid down with her about 9, which was already an hour and a half past her bedtime, while Korie and I finished painting.  It took her about 45 minutes to fall asleep.  When I came in for bed, this is what I found...
Sweet little angel.  I didn't want to turn on the TV like I usually do before bed and she woke up while I was looking on my phone, so I had to turn that off too.  I'm not one to just lay down and fall asleep, I have to unwind, usually by watching TV or looking on my phone, especially after painting for 6 hours.  The last time I looked at the clock it was after midnight.  She woke up at 2 frantically searching for her "BLANKET".  If you notice she has plenty with her in the bed, but the little tiny pink one was lost in the covers.  I found it and then laid us back down.  That was it.  She was tossing and turning, slurping on her thumb, flipping sideways and laying on me.  I thought very seriously about dragging her crib out of her room and into the living room and laying her in there but decided that was too much work.  About 4am was the last time I looked at the clock until 6am when I woke up for work.....to this....

I love those two so much.  And as I watched them so peacefully sleeping all snuggled up to each other I couldn't help but be annoyed.  LOL  Scotty heard nothing all night (he later told me) and Makenzie didn't have to work today---ugh!  Well, she cried from the minute I got her up until the minute I walked out of her daycare.  She kept saying "hold you mommy" over and over again and clinging onto my hand.  It was the most awful feeling pulling my hand away from her.  I knew she was tired and just wanted to snuggle her mommy.  I called later to check on her and her teacher said she was fine and playing but she noticed her yawning a lot.  She is going to bed early tonight and sleeping in her own bed!!!

14 Weeks

How Far Along: 14 weeks 2 days

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an orange.  About 4 1/2 inches long and about 2 ounces

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +1-2 pounds   This is a guess.  I have my appointment next week and will get the official weight.

Maternity Clothes: I'm stretching the limits of my normal clothes.  I've been able to wear my normal shorts and capris and keep them low under my tummy, but my shirts are pretty much on their last leg.  And my scrub tops for work are super tight on my tummy.

Gender: Getting so close to finding out!!

Movement: Not yet, but I can't wait to feel those kicks

Sleep: I have been sleeping all through the night.  It's awesome!

What I miss:  Being able to do something without getting out of breath.  It's so annoying.

Cravings: Mexican food.  I could eat it for every meal.  Avocados.  Yum!  I have been cutting them up and eating it on chips.  Ice water.

Best Moment This Week: Finding out my 2 best friends are planning my gender reveal party!!  I can't wait!

It's done.....almost!

Korie came over again last night to finish up in Makenzie's room!  We had to prime her green wall first to paint the grey on! While that was drying we started painting the pink chevron! This paint was weird and dried streaky and it took a bunch of coats!
When that was finished we moved back over and painted the grey with sparkles on the big wall! It is so pretty and somehow I didn't get a picture of it!  It needs more sparkles, so tonight we are going to do another coat!  We added the silver to the chevron and pulled off the tape!!
It looks so good and you can see the sparkles really good in the chevron!  We started painting the ceiling pink but ran out of paint!  Today I'm getting some more sparkles for the grey and some more light pink to finish the ceiling and we are done!!!
This is at 10:00 PM when we finished! We had painted since 4!  So lucky to have such an awesome best friend, best sister in law, amazing aunt to Makenzie and talented painter!! So appreciative of her!!!
Dallas wanted to see his mommy while we painted so he sat in my lap! Korie turned around and he was asleep! Sweet boy!!
I did help a little....here's some proof!

Tonight I will have the finished painted room pictures!!!

Gymnastics

I have waited to start Makenzie in gymnastics for as long as I can remember!  Tonight was the night! Her first class. I was so excited--it felt like it was MY first class!!

We got there a little early, and she was so excited she didn't even want to sit and wait for her class to start!  They opened the class by jumping on the trampoline---this is her favorite thing to do by far!!!
They all sat in a circle and held hands and then the teacher bounced them like popcorn--she loved it!

Then they moved to the foam pit. They sat on one side and then crawled to us through the pit!  She was not sure about this at all! (I don't blame her). Her teacher held her hand and she made her way over to me!
And then she got to swing out over the pit!  I did not think she would do this at all, but she loved it!!!  Her teacher was impressed and said it normally takes about 2-3 classes before they will do it!
They did a little obstacle course that she was not into! I think she was tired and overwhelmed!  She sat down and cried for a minute! She saw her daddy in the stands and started saying "daddy, daddy hi daddy" and waving--it was so cute!  I could bribe her a little by telling her to show daddy what she could do! She also got to jump down the long tumble trampoline into the foam pit! She liked this, and instead of jumping into the pit she did a bottom buster on the end of the trampoline and then bounced into the pit--silly girl!!!
I was very surprised at how well she walked on the balance beam! She didn't even need me and wasn't even watching where she was going, but she only wanted to go about halfway and then was over it!

At the end of the class they all gather in a circle and get stickers and stamps on their feet!  She was so excited for a sticker but kept calling the stamps "boo boo's".
We had so much fun, but it wore me out! She did really good, but it was so hard keeping her in line and away from the trampoline! I was very proud of her Nd can't wait to go again next week!!

Chevron

Monday night Korie came over to help me tape off the chevron wall!  It took us a while to get started and get both of us thinking the same thing, but once she got going it went pretty fast!  Korie did up high before she had to leave to go to cheer practice and then I did a little before Kenzie went to bed!
After Kenzie went to bed, I went to Lowes to get all the paint and supplies!!
So excited to get this project finished!!!

Korie came back tonight and we knocked out the rest of the taping!!!
We locked the babies up for a minute so we could get some work done--yeah right!
Those kids did not want to share or play or sit together or look at each other today!!  I am so thankful for Korie and all her help! She is amazing!  Tomorrow we will start (and hopefully) finish painting so I can get Makenzie moved in this weekend!!!!

Weekend Recap

Mimi came to stay the night Friday.  We met her at Hobby Lobby and shopped for awhile, and Korie and Shannon met us there too.  Afterwards we all went to dinner.  It was pandemonium.  Kenzie was awful.  She wouldn't sit in her highchair, just wanted to grab handfuls of chips, cried, wouldn't eat, cried, cried, cried.   I switched out her highchair for a regular chair for her to stand in which was a little better, but not much.  Not to mention our waitress was awful.  I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Can you tell how un-amused I am with dinner.

After dinner we came home and played with Mimi until Scotty got home.

She kept bringing Mimi all her babies to hold.  I sent that top picture to Scotty and he didn't even notice Makenzie in the dolls.  She loves her Mimi so much!!!  When Scotty got home and Makenzie went to bed, we headed out to do some grocery shopping at WalMart.  It's so much easier to go late at night and not be so crowded.  And we have fun getting to walk through and take our time.

Saturday morning we woke up and went to some garage sales.  Mimi got a car seat for her car and I scored some Tiny Toms for $5 a pair....I got pink and black!!!  We came back home and started on Makenzie's wall.  I'm doing a chevron wall and needed to grid the wall to tape off the chevron.  We started out using the laser level and a book to trace the lines--didn't work out so well.  Not to mention my little helper was in the way!!

We gave up and I went to Pinterest to look for an easier way.  I found a blog that said she did it by tracing a 12x12 piece of paper all over the wall and she said that it was much easier.....so off I went.

I traced a 12x12 piece of paper over her entire wall.  It took about 45 minutes but was much easier than what we were doing before.  So now, I'm waiting on my super awesome sister in law, Korie, to come help me tape it off and paint.  Once we paint I can move her furniture in and get her settled into her new big girl room.  I'm really excited to get this done so that I can focus on the babies room when I find out what I'm having.

That night we went to a friends house for her birthday party and see their new house.  Their daughter is in Makenzie's class at school.  It was fun and we all hung out and let the kids run wild and have fun.  We didn't get home until late and Makenzie did great.

Shannon did something funny to Korie and we all laughed but the funniest thing was that Makenzie tilted her head back and was laughing so hard.  It was a great night.

Sunday, Scotty prepared his new smoker and some meat to cook out for my parents coming over for lunch.  I left and met the girls at a consignment sale in Frisco.  It was lame.  We are used to the ginormous Just Between Friends sale and this one seemed so small and over priced.  I didn't stay long and came back home to help with lunch.  Mimi and Papa came over and visited and we ate.  Scotty did a great job.  Everything was delicious.  (I get so nervous everytime he cooks out because I am "meat juice paranoid" and end up cleaning up behind him making sure all the juice gets cleaned up.  He is the complete opposite and walks around touching everything and letting juice drips--ewww)
While my parents were there we I decided to flip the mattress around.  Everyone lined up to flip our heavy mattress and my mom realizes....
The boys both got on one side and left her to one side by herself....LOL   They figured it out and flipped it and now we're not laying in holes anymore!!!

It was a wonderful weekend and we got so much done and had fun with friends and family too.  Makenzie picked up a new catch phrase....NO.  She will say no, noooo, or no no non stop.  It's not fun, but her little voice is the cutest thing I have ever heard.
