Brrrrr

This weekend has been sooooo cold!!!  We were stuck inside all weekend but made the best out of it with some house projects and cuddles.  Friday, Madi woke up snotty and sneezing and her face was so chapped.  She looked miserable.  Poor girl.  She still acted fine and was happy though.  After work we went and picked up Bebe and brought her back home with us.  The girls took a bath, more like splashed water all over the bathroom.  It was soaking wet in there but they were having so much fun so I let them and then mopped it up later!!

Kenzie had us cracking up with her dance moves.  She does it in slow motion and circles her hands around and bends her knees up and down.  So funny!!!  Saturday morning Kenzie and I ran a few errands while Madi stayed with Bebe.  When we came home Papa came over to help me with a few things around the house.
I ordered a scrapbook desk online and I should have known it was going to be disaster to put together when it came in a tiny box that weighed a million pounds.  Dad and I sorted through it and eventually got it "mostly" put together.  We were "short" a few parts and had to wait to finish until we got some more pieces.  They headed home and us girls cuddled and played the rest of the night in our jammies.  I built our first fire and the girls loved it.
(this is not how the fireplace normally looks but I've been doing some rearranging and those things haven't found a place yet)  This morning the girls let us sleep in until 8:30......ahhhhmazing!  Scotty got us some coffee and we spent the morning cleaning and organizing.
I hung up alot in Madi's room and got everything picked up off the floor.  Her room is 95% done and I can't wait to see it finished!!!  I had two little helpers in there with me.  Madi kicked us out so she could take a nap.  Mom and dad called and said they were coming back over to finish the desk.  My mom worked on hemming curtains in Makenzie's room and dad and I finished the desk, hung a mirror, hung the ruler in the hallway and frosted the front door so you can't see through it anymore.

The front room is looking so cute.  I still have curtains to hang and some canvas' that I need to hang up and then to move all my stuff downstairs and put away and it will be finished in there.  The front door was clear where the design is in the middle and it was really freaky to be able to see out or even more that people could peek in on us.  Now that it is frosted you can't see through it and I love it.
Dad headed home and mom and I went to Michaels to do some shopping and then I took her home.  It sleeted on me the whole way home.  It is sooooo cold.  We got the kiddos bathed and fed and then played for a little while before bed.

Madi saw a cute baby on the freezer drawer and kissed her over and over.  It was so cute.  She smiled and squealed and would lean over and kiss her reflection.  She pulled herself up to a stand all today by herself.  She's got it down now.

A game changer day

This week has turned out to be like nothing I had ever expected.  My job has decided to take away my position of getting off at 3.  After talking with Scotty, we decided this is the right time to finally make the decision and stay home with the girls. Unfortunately the conversation did not go very well with my boss.  It was ugly, but it is done!!!  I'm excited to say that as of Thanksgiving I will be a stay at home mommy!!!

Other than that excitement we have been pretty low key at home.  Last night the girls and I hung out and played all night.

Kenzie loves to sit down and put her arms out and tell Madi to come give her hugs.  Madi will crawl so fast over to her and pull up on her and give her big sister a hug which leads to a wrestling match that they both love.  I also caught Madi doing her funny crawl last night after dinner.

It is so funny.  Looks like she is going to just stand up anytime.  Tonight Kenzie had dance and Madi flirted with her boyfriend while we waited.
After dance we grabbed some dinner and headed home to play.  Madi is coming down with something again.  She is coughing, sneezing and has a runny nose.  I hate that!!!  I'm hoping the girls will not get sick as much when I stay home with them.

I love these munchkins so much and they make me so happy.  At the end of two very long crappy days, they make me smile and forget about everything else.  I can't wait to spend my days with them!!!

Monday....

Oh Monday you came so quick again!!!  Sunday was a lazy day for me since I woke up not feeling good Sunday morning.  Scotty had baby duty and I had bed duty.  Later in the afternoon I felt a little better and sat outside with them while they played.

Scotty put up the Halloween stuff and got down my Christmas stuff.  It takes everything I have not to open the totes and start putting everything up!!  After the girls went to bed I straitened up in the playroom.  I still have a few things to hang on the wall but it's coming together.
Today I started the Advocare 24 day challenge.  I became an Advocare distributor last week since I use their products anyways and this way I will get a discount.  I did really good today and didn't cheat at all.  While I was prepping dinner tonight Madison got to eat her first "real" meal of avocado and brown rice.  She loved it!
Scotty came home and we wrestled in the living room until bedtime.  Kenzie loves wallering all over us and Madi tries so hard to keep up but normally gets rolled around!

Love these low key nights with my family.  I have my food prepped for tomorrow and dinner ready for tomorrow night ready to go in the crock pot in the morning!!!

Madison is 9 months old

Another month has flown by and my sweet girl is 9 months old.  I know I say it every month, but I really wish time would slow down!!  These pictures were the hardest yet to get.  She wouldn't sit still, was infatuated with taking her bow off, and was more interested in what her sister was doing.

She has accomplished so much this month.  Madi is officially a crawler.  She mastered that and now is super fast.  She follows us all over the house.  She has pulled up a few times but not consistantly.  She keeps getting up on her feet when she crawls.  Hands on the ground, booty in the air and toes on the ground.  She better not be trying to stand up.  She has started waving bye bye when we leave her.  When I say something to her over and over, most of the time mama, she will try and repeat it back.  Now that she is eating again, she decided that she likes to hold her own bottle.

Sometimes I try and hold her hands instead so I can still feed her....not ready to give that up.  Her doctor was impressed that she already has 5 teeth and the 6th is barely under the skin.
She does ok with teething and never really fusses.  I think all the teething is what was preventing us from feeding her bottles.  I try and keep her doped up on advil and that seems to help.  She has learned how to click her tongue.  Kenzie and I laugh when she has crawled away and we can't see her but we can hear her clicking.  My favorite thing she has started doing is giving kisses.  Big, sloppy, open mouthed kisses.  She will do it if I prompt her for kisses but sometimes will lean in on her own.  I love them!!!
This month was rough in the eating department.  She refused her bottle for a solid 3 weeks.  We were lucky to get 10 ounces in her all day.  She would eat her solid foods fine, but would lock her little lips together and wouldn't even let the bottle in her mouth.  Now that she is feeling better she is tearing up the bottles.  I normally make a 7 ounce bottle and most of the time she will take all of it.  She gets 4 to 5 bottles a day and a jar, sometimes a jar and a half, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I started giving her cheerios, diced baked apples and carrots and she loves it.  She is really good at picking them up and getting them in her mouth.
Madison is a great sleeper.  I normally put her down about 7:30/8 and she sleeps all night until we get her up about 6:15 during the week or 7 if she wakes up on her own.  She takes 2 hour long naps during the day.  When she was sick she would wake up a few times but I think because she was hungry and/or her ears hurt.  Poor thing got her first ear infection and RSV this month.
She is a petite little thing. (Definitely takes after her mama.....haha)  She lost almost a pound a half from being sick, and she was little before that.  She weighs 16 pounds (5-10%) and is 27.25" (25-50%) long.  Her noggin is 17" (25%).  I ran out of size 2 diapers so we switched to size 3.  They are big and she probably still needs a 2 but this is what we got.  She fits the best in 6-9m clothes.  She has outgrown 6m but the 9m is still a little baggy on her.  I still haven't put shoes on her.  I try but she rubs them off almost immediately.  I think she is almost in a size 2.
Madi continues to be the sweetest little baby.  Her personality is so easy going and happy.  If she gets upset there is normally a reason.  She has developed a little separation anxiety if I leave her sight.  Secretly I love that she loves me so much but it does become a pain when I am trying to do something.  She is always happy and smiling.  Chasing after her sister is one of her favorite things to do.  She is very active and always on the move.  She is such a blessing to our family and we love her so much.

I love comparing them at the same age.  I don't think they look anything alike.  Maybe because Makenzie was a chunk and Madi is skinny, but I love both those faces so much!!!

Wordless Wednesday

(ok a few words....Madison is feeling better and ate some carrots tonight.  She is trying so hard to pull up and stand and loves being able to play with her big sister)

Splish Splash

Madison loves her bath.  She splashes and plays the whole time.

Love her sweet smile and those bright blue eyes!!!

Sister giggles

There is nothing I love more than hearing my two girls giggling together.  Kenzie loves to make her little sister laugh and Madi is obsessed with anything Makenzie does!!!
I love that sweet giggle!!  This next video looks like Makenzie is choking her but really she has a little baby doll bib and she is pretending to put it on Madi.
