Last Christmas celebration......and the FLU

We had Christmas with my older brother and his family a few weekends ago.  They all came over and spent the day and the kids had so much fun running around with their cousins.

Poor Madison started feeling bad later that night and had a low grade temp.  In the middle of the night it had spiked up to 102.8 and she was diagnosed with Flu A the next day.
Makenzie made her a get well card and Madison was so excited to get it.

We spent the day lounging around in our jammies and watching movies.  I followed Madison around with Lysol and Clorox wipes all day and tried to keep everyone separated.  Wednesday night I came down with it and literally felt like I was dying.  I stayed in bed all the next morning and basically was in survival mode Thursday.  Friday I felt better but Landon had caught it.

Getting caught up

We met up with some friends this week to let the kids burn off some energy.  It has been so COLD and they were getting stir crazy being cooped up in the house.  We went to Urban Air and let them run around and jump for awhile.

Landon has a very high pitched squeal.  It is very piercing.  The other day Makenzie was squealing and he was doing it back to her and was cracking us up.
Makenzie does a ninja class off and on.  We haven't been in a while due to scheduling conflicts.  We went this past week and she did so good.  She was able to jump to the swinging bar and monkey across all the way turn around and come back.  I was so proud of her.  We ended up going out to eat afterwards with some friends and turned into a late evening for us.

My poor baby has 4 teeth cutting through his gums right now.  The two on the bottom next to his front teeth and the two on top next to the front teeth (that have just barely come in).

The girls fresh out of the bath and in new jammies.  They were hamming it up.
Today was a busy day.  Autumn and I went to the gym early and got a workout in.  (I don't know if I have mentioned that yet on here.  We joined right after Christmas and have been going ever since.  Normally we do the 5:30 class so we can get it done early and not have to bring the kids with us.  We have also done the 8:30 class a few times.  Friday I went by myself and checked Landon into the childcare room.  When I came back to pick him up he burst into tears when he saw me.  As soon as I got him he clung to me like a koala bear...it was so sad)  Then Kenzie had a birthday party for her friend from school.  Tessie and Rylee were invited to so I got to hang out with Heidi and Autumn during the party.  It was at a new kids culinary school and we were excited to check it out.  They  made pizza's and decorated cupcakes.  Afterwards we went out to lunch with friends and then we all went skating.  It was so crowded and Landon hadn't had a nap and was pretty cranky.  Madison didn't want to skate but she didn't want to sit and watch everyone else either.  It made for a pretty miserable afternoon for me, but Kenzie had fun at least with her friends.

Happy New Year

Landon is a really happy baby but he especially loves laughing at his sisters.  The girls love doing silly things for him to make him laugh.

New Year's Eve we went to Autumn and Chris' house.  Heidi, Rob and Tessie were there and so were Edward and Cassie with their 2 boys Jack and Beau.  We had so much fun.  The kids all ran around crazy and they all stayed up until midnight (except Landon).  The adults played games and hung out while the kids played upstairs.

I am so excited to see what 2018 has in store for the Smith family.  I have some "resolutions" for this year.  More like goals really.  Of course getting healthy is on my list.  I say that every year, and did so good for awhile, but I need to get more consistent.  I want to say yes more.  I catch myself telling the kids, or myself, that they can't do something when really there is no reason I can't say yes.  I want to save money better than I have been.  I'm not quite sure what I'm ready to give up or cut back on but I am working on it.  I want my little family to hang out more and play games, go on walks/bike rides, play outside, take little weekend trips.  Scotty works so much and the time we do have as a family could be better spent.  2018 is going to be great.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!  The girls had us up right at 7 saying that Santa had come.

Makenzie picked us all out gifts from the shop at her school.  She got Scotty a keychain and was so proud to give it to him.   We had a special surprise in the backyard for the kids.

Makenzie was so excited.  Landon woke up just as we were finishing up gifts.  He was excited to sit in his ball pit.

After we ate breakfast and got dressed we headed to Bebe and Papa's house to celebrate with them.

We ate a delicious lunch and then headed to our third celebration of the day.  We went to Heidi and Rob's house for our friend's Christmas.  The girls all drew names and did a secret Santa gift exchange.  It was fun watching them all get so excited to give each other their gifts.

The kids all played while the adults played games.  I have never laughed so hard in my life.  The kids all had a slumber party afterwards at Autumn and Chris' house.  This was Madison's first sleepover and she was so excited.
