Weekend Wrap Up

We had such a busy, fun weekend.  When I picked Kenzie up from school on Friday, her pictures with Santa were in.  Her teacher said that she was so cute and just cuddled up to him that they couldn't pick which picture to print so they printed and gave me all 3.  I took pictures of the pictures with my phone, but they are so much cuter in person.

We went on a family date to On the Border Friday after work.  It was so yummy!  In her bucket of books for the 25 days of Christmas, she had a few Christmas movies so I thought it was the perfect night for her to open one of those.  We discovered that our DVD player doesn't work.  Womp Womp  I got out the car DVD player and her and I laid on the couch and watched all of about 10 minutes of it before she got bored.  Who doesn't love Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer????

Saturday morning we woke up and went to get to breakfast after Scotty left for work.  I heard her sneeze and looked in the rear view mirror to see her throwing up.  Throw up in the car is by far the worst thing ever.  So glad I chose to get her a purple slush to go with her egg burrito.  We raced home and I cleaned her up....she was so sad she got it on her blanket and she couldn't have it, so the car ride was even worse than normal.  I was so nervous she was getting the stomach bug, so I gave her small sips of water.  That girl was running around like crazy, talking up a storm and playing like nothing ever happened.  I took her temperature, which was normal, so I went ahead and got us ready to go to my work Christmas party.

She looked adorable and we headed out.  (I loaded up with an extra set of clothes for both up us, towels and plastic bags....just in case)  All was good on the drive there and we had a blast at the party.  They do a raffle and everyone gets to pick a prize.  Kenzie picked a soft pink elephant and when my number was called I helped her pick a blue owl for Madison's room. We played a few games and then hit the road.

We were heading to Caleb's birthday party and she started to feel bad again, I thought, so I decided we better head home and rest.  She passed out in the car and we went and picked up Bebe to come stay the night with us.  She woke up from her nap feeling fine and running around again.  I truly think she must have gotten a little choked up while eating and when she sneezed it just brought it up.  Who knows, but knock on wood she has been fine ever since.  Bebe helped me go through all the clothes totes in the garage and got them labeled.  We made it through 5 totes before I got sore from sitting on the ground and before Kenzie drove us me crazy.

Kenzie put on everything we pulled out of the totes.  Hats, pants, bloomers.  The purple pants she has on are 0-3 months.  She was cracking me up.  She also took possession of all the burp clothes that I had saved for Madison.  I can see how my future is going to be with Makenzie and Madison's stuff.  We got through all the newborn-9m stuff and also filled up 2 totes full of stuff that won't fit Madison in the right season or that I wasn't in love with.  Now I need to wash stuff and get it in her closet and dresser!

Sunday we woke up and got ready to head to Presley's birthday party.  I can't believe that sweet girl is 1 already.  Well, not until Tuesday, but close enough.  She is so cute and sweet and good natured--we just love her.  Shannon did everything in animal print and it was so cute.  We all had a great time!

We left there and headed to Scotty's work Christmas party.  I knew it was going to be ugly with her not having a nap.  His company rents out a VIP room of Shennanigan's and there is bowling and food and Santa comes and hands out presents to all the kids.  Kenzie saw Santa as we were walking in and insisted on seeing him.  She ran right up to him and turned around for him to lift him onto his lap.  I guess they are old buddies at this point.

I had to take her out of the room several times due to her throwing herself on the floor throwing tantrums.  She also managed to spill water all over the table and our plate of food.  It was ugly--just as I predicted.  She was however excited to open her gift from Santa.  It was a galloping princess on a horse.  (Little does she know I think she has more of these coming for Christmas).  She loved it.

We left there and headed home to do bath, laundry and clean up.  I need a weekend for my weekend.  We didn't get to rest at all, but at least it was spent with friends and family that we love.  This upcoming week looks to be just as busy.  Lots to do and get done before Christmas, and we have bad icy weather coming again this weekend.

31 Weeks

How Far Along: 31 weeks

Size of baby: She's almost 18 inches long and 4.8 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +18  I was surprised I only gained 1 pound in the last 2 weeks with the amount of ice cream I have consumed.

Maternity Clothes: Full on maternity clothes.

Gender: GIRL  Madison Grace Smith

Movement: Tons of movement.  She moves non stop.  I have been feeling her getting the hiccups a lot lately.

Sleep: Sleeping has been hit or miss this week.  One night I sleep great and the next night I toss and turn all night, waking up to pee a million times.  Last night was one of those.  I was up 3 times to pee and after the last one at 4:30 I couldn't go back to sleep.  Made for a very long day.

What I miss:  A good long sleep with no interruptions.  And to quit getting these annoying head colds.  I seem to get one after another and they make me even more tired.

Cravings: Still sweets.  Ice cream....mainly orange sherbet but I haven't been discriminating! And pancakes and waffles covered in syrup.

Best Moment This Week: I had my OB check up today and we did our 4d sonogram.  Madison looks just like Makenzie.  Big beautiful lips that I can't wait to kiss, big squishy cheeks and my nose.  Her sono picture is identical to Mackenzie's.  My doctor also said she is measuring about 9 days ahead of 31 weeks and is weighing about 4.8 pounds--big girl.  We discussed scheduling my C-section to Feb 4th or 5th, but secretly I don't think I will go that long--we'll see.

Ice day #2

We were iced in today again!  We stayed in our pajamas all day and played!
We headed to Korie's house to play and do a little crafting!
I finished her lamp finally!  Poor thing has just had a lamp with the bulb showing this whole time!!  It is really cute and is perfect in her room!
Scotty got off early again--2 days in a row-- so we headed home to visit with him!  Unfortunately he got in a little fender bender on the way home!  Luckily everyone was ok and it wasn't serious- still scary!  Kenzie and I went in her room and I cleaned it and organized it! I got her closet looking amazing and just need to do the top shelf and hang a few pictures tomorrow!!  Afterwards we headed back down to Korie's house to hang out some more!  We were only there about an hour and when we left it had started sleeting and my windshield was completely iced over! Looks like we may be iced in tomorrow too!
Isn't Korie's tree so cute!  I love it!
The last two are from yesterday that I just got from Korie's phone!  These 2 spent a lot of time together these last 2 days!  They are so cute when they are playing nicely together--I LOVE it!

I have my fingers crossed that we can get out tomorrow and have breakfast and go shopping, but I think the roads may be bad in the morning!!

Iced in

We got iced in today!  We woke up to an icy wonderland!  It's really pretty outside, but unfortunately I don't think our trees are going to survive!  The branches are slumped down and frozen stiff!  Scotty headed out to work and Kenzie and I stayed in our Jammie's and played and watched movies!!
(I walked in from cooking breakfast and found her like this on my floor watching Mickey)
Korie and Dallas came over to play for awhile!  Those kids are so crazy when they get together!  They love each other and play so good and then they turn on each other and fight and won't share and cry, and then they are all about each other again!  Fighting or playing nice I am so thankful that we live so close and they can grow up together! Korie helped me set up Madison's room! It looks so good!
Korie was so sweet and painted the room this week!  It looks great! Everything is a bright blue and the closet wall is a bright pink with glitter!
I can't wait to get all the accessories done!  I ordered the fabric for my mom to make a valance and have lots of other ideas to get going on!

Yesterday, Makenzie had a speech therapy evaluation!  She did great and responded really well to the therapist and did everything she was asked to do!  She passed the test and doesn't need any therapy sessions, but there were some areas to improve in! It was a 2 hour appointment in a tiny room and we were ALL so ready to get out of there! I'm glad we did it and I feel much better after talking to the therapist!

This silly girl is getting too big for a sink baths!  I love letting her soak in the sink and so does she!  I would love to have Madison on one side and Kenzie on the other, but I don't think Kenzie is going to be able to hold out that long!

30 Weeks

How Far Along: 30 weeks   10 weeks to go!!!

Size of baby: She's almost 17 inches long and almost 4 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +17

Maternity Clothes: Full on maternity clothes.

Gender: GIRL  Madison Grace Smith

Movement: Baby girl is so active.  She has been kicking and rolling so much.  I can see my stomach moving around like crazy.  She has knocked things off my tummy that I had resting on it.  So fun to see.

Sleep: I've been sleeping really good at night but I'm still so exhausted all day, and by the time I get home from work--I'm DONE.

What I miss:  Snuggling my girl and picking her up.  I have run out of a lap for her to sit on.  She always wants to sit on my lap, but there is just no room.  Bless her heart, she's so used to me picking her up and doesn't understand why I can't lately.  The doctor told me to limit lifting weight to around 25 pounds.  Makenzie weighs more than that and it's hard to pick her up now.

Cravings: I have had a sweet tooth lately.  Bring on the ice cream!  Orange sherbert is heaven.

Best Moment This Week: Korie painted Madison's room.  It looks so good.  All that's left is the tree above her bed and then I can get everything set up!!

Church and hives

We started our Sunday off by going to church with the Smiths and the Poes at Sue and Robby's church!  It was nice to get out and go and with our friends!  Poor John was stuck with Kenzie! She just loves him and always wants to be near him, so she snuggled up to him the whole time! After church we went to eat with John, Lance, Robby and Dallas!  The girls went shopping but I had so much I wanted to get done at home!  While at lunch I noticed Kenzie was getting hives all over! Her little fingers were red and swollen and she was itching!  She got pretty fussy and just wanted to be held so I took her home and left Scotty to ride home with the boys later!  When I got her home and stripped down I realized they were everywhere, even her little toes were swollen! I gave her some Benadryl and we waited on Bebe and Papa to come over! They were bringing something I bought home that was too heavy for me to bring home myself!  Kenzie and Bebe played and somehow Bebe made her mad and she was yelling at her saying "leave Kenzie alone". It was so funny!  She wouldn't look at her or talk to her. Mom even pretended to cry and still nothing!  I think the Benadryl finally kicked in and she ended up curling up in her lap!  After they left, Kenzie fell asleep in my lap! She has not done that since she was a baby!
I loved it!  It was 5:15 by that time and I didn't want her sleeping too long so I laid her down while I made dinner and then woke her up!  Scotty drug his booty in about 5:30 and was worthless from a day of drinking with the boys!  Before bed we started our Santa advent calendar!
She glues a cotton ball everyday on his beard! She loved it and wanted to do all of them last night!  We also started our 25 days of Christmas books and movies! Every night she gets to pick out of the bucket and unwrap a present!
She was very excited! Unfortunately the book was very lame so I read about 5 to make up for it! I'll be more selective next year!!

I didn't get to do anything I wanted or needed to do today with a sick kiddo and an absent husband!!
