Mid-week catch up

My days are running together and I can't find the time to sit down and blog at night.  I guess my 3-4 days, sometimes a week, catch up's will have to do.

Sunday, Korie and I met up with Shannon and went to the Divine Consign sale.  We had a great time and got some really good stuff.

I got the girls some really great stuff for this fall and winter.  Korie and I went to a few more stores on the way home and shopped some more!!!

Monday the girls and I played outside all afternoon.  Kenzie pulled out everything that I cleaned up and played with it.  She learned how to petal on her tricycle up and down the sidewalk.  Madi played in her exersaucer while I cleaned up in the garage.  I went through the rest of the boxes and rearranged some things.  Pretty much everything is unpacked now from the garage.  I need to get some garage shelves so I can put everything up.

After getting hot and sweaty, we came inside and played some more.  I cooked us dinner and we waited on Daddy to get home from work.  Madison decided she didn't need me to hold her bottle for her tonight.  <sad face>

She is growing up too fast and I don't like it.  After the girls went to bed, I unpacked some boxes.  To my surprise I found the screws to Madi's bed in a box with my cleaning supplies.  I can't imagine why I didn't check in that box when I was looking for them!!!

Tuesday the girls and I came home and waited on Dallas and Koko to come over.   Kenzie helped me put together some toys and install batteries.  She loves to help anyone do anything.

Dallas and Kenzie ran around and played and then we went in to watch  Koko paint the tree on Madi's wall.

 

The tree looks amazing and I can't wait to see it finished with the birds and owls on the branches.  Dallas and Kenzie were so cute.  They played together and loved on Madi and then stole our phones and played games on them together.  Before they left they had a hug session that turned into a wrestling match that turned into a game of chase.  Love these sweet kids.

Tonight I ran some errands after work and picked up the kids and came home to meet up with daddy.  He was off today and did a bunch around the house.....I was very surprised and impressed.  It started pouring down rain and Kenzie wanted to play in it.  I gave her my umbrella and she was off.

We took the kids to dinner and Madi sat in the highchair like a big girl for the first time.

I tried feeding her some avocado but she wasn't a fan and it came right back out!!  She did however love drinking water from my straw.

A little catch up

Wednesday we took Madi to the eye doctor to get her blocked tear duct checked out.  She put a stain in her eyes to see how long it took it to drain out.  The left one drained immediately, but the right one stayed in there and just teared out on her cheek.

We made the decision to go ahead and have it probed to open it up.  She was gone a few minutes and came back and drank her bottle and went to sleep.  It wasn't bad at all.  She cried, don't get me wrong.  But she was also tired and hungry before they took her back and had already started crying.  We have been doing drops in that eye 4 times a day and we can already tell a difference. She hasn't had any gooping or tearing up.  I'm glad we got that over with.

Thusday Kenzie had dance.  She is absolutely adorable.  I love peeking through the window and watching her.  She has spotted me a few times and will holler at me thru the glass and wave--she's going to get me in trouble.

 Bebe and Papa came over Friday to spend the night.  It's the first time my dad has ever stayed over.  They came to help me get my  house in order and do some of the bigger tasks.  Dad and I went to Lowes to get our supplies and grabbed dinner on the way home.  We decided we were too tired to start working so we just hung out instead and went to bed.  Bebe brought Makenzie a necklace that has their saying on it.  "I love you to the moon and back".

We were up bright and early this morning.  Papa hung up a ceiling fan and a curtain rod and curtains in the play room.  He plugged up 2 holes where the garage door meets the concrete that was allowing critters in my garage.  He also hung up the curtain rods and curtains in my room.   Bebe had her hands full with the kids.  She also rearranged Kenzie's bedroom and straitened it up and put up some decorations.  I was finally able to clean the garage out.  It was such a disaster but I went though every box and pulled out stuff I didn't need.   I can pull my car in now.

I am so thankful that they came over.  We got a lot done, plus it is just nice to have the company.  After they left and the kids were napping, I went through all my totes of stuff I'm selling at the Just Between Friends Sale and got everything safety pinned to hangers.  Now I have to enter them all in the computer and put the tags on them.  Tomorrow is the Diving Consign sale.  Korie, Shannon and I are going shopping for the kiddos.  We love these consignment sales.  

Madison is 7 months

Time got away from me this month and I'm a week late posting her 7 month pictures.  Things have been so crazy unpacking and going out of town.  I also lost her monthly stickers somewhere in the chaos, so poor girl will have one month without until I order some new ones.

 This past month has been so fun.  She is so active and animated.  She cut her second tooth while we were on vacation and she looks adorable with those two little teeth.  She wants to be on the go so bad but just can't quite figure out how to crawl.  She will bounce up and down when she is sitting like she wants to go.  I will put her on all fours and she will stay like that for awhile and then will lay flat on her tummy, stinker.  We've been putting her in her jumper and I've seen her bounce around in it a few times.  She mostly focuses all her attention to her big sister.  Wherever she is, that's where Madison is looking.   It's so cute.  She will just giggle if Makenzie even looks at her.  Her big sissy is still her favorite person by far.

She has started babbling a lot this week.  It's mostly "lala" but freaking "dada" has come out a lot.  I always correct her and say "it's MAMA" but she just laughs.  She has the sweetest voice and giggles.  I can't wait to her what she has to stay.

Since losing weight when she was sick, she seems so tiny to me.  I've been trying to fatten her up.  She typically will drink 4-5 bottles a day and each one is anywhere from 5-7 ounces.  She is also getting 3 jars of food a day.  She loves eating from the spoon.  I started giving her puffs to chew on but she hasn't quite figured those out yet and most of them come back out on her chin.  She is still in a size 2 diaper and I don't see her outgrowing them anytime soon.  She fits a 6 month outfit the best, but I have to do 6-9 month pajamas because she is too long for the 6 month.  I've been putting socks on her lately because she rubs her toes together so much, and so hard, that she has rubbed a boo boo on her toe.

She finally got her crib back in her room and she sleeps much better in it versus her pack n play.  She will normally have her last bottle for the night about 7:30 and is in bed around 8.  I had to sleep train her all over again last week.  She was waking up every time her paci came out of her mouth and was wanting to eat in the middle of the night.  I finally just turned down the monitor and let her cry it out a little.  Before we moved around so much, she was sleeping all night.  It took 3 nights of her crying a little at night before she was back on schedule.  Now she puts herself back to sleep and doesn't wake up at all.  When I lay her down in bed she will immediately roll over on her side and snuggle her blanket.  I guess we are going to have another blanket obsessed kid.

Madison is such an easy baby.  She is always smiling and happy and just goes with the flow.  We are able to do just about anything or go anywhere and not worry about how she will do.  I have noticed a little bit of separation anxiety episodes.  She pretty much likes to see me at all times, unless she is with her sister.  When we get home in the afternoons, I will sit her in the playroom with some of her toys around her and Kenzie will stay in there and play with her, and her toys, while I get all my stuff inside and put away.  Her big sister is so good with her and so gentle.  It makes my heart happy to see the relationship that is building between them.

Tooth #2

My big girl cut her second tooth while on vacation.  I noticed it on Saturday, the 6th.  She is growing up so fast, and I don't like it.

Kenzie'isms

This crazy girl says some of the funniest things!!!  She is so sassy and silly.  My favorite new thing she is saying is, "I love you sooo much".  She started saying it out of the blue and at random times, and I absolutely love it!!!  She also picked a phrase up from her daddy.  When someone is taking too long he will say clock.  Kenzie has picked it up and uses it at the correct time too.  When they were going down the slide at the hotel she called clock on the kids in front of her and said, "clock, come on guys".  I laughed so hard.  She has also said it in the drive thru line, at a red light and to a little old lady checking out in front of us.  She cracks me up.  She has also picked back up saying s*** again.  When we were walking to our car and Scotty said it was all the way at the end, without missing a beat, Kenzie said well s*** and kept walking.  Scotty and I both looked at each other to make sure we heard her right! We did.  She has said it on a few other occasions, in the correct context too.  I always tell her we don't say that word and have to walk away so she doesn't see me laughing!  She is very big into pretend play right now and I love hearing the scenarios she comes up with.  Her little personality comes out more and more everyday!

Family Vacation Part 3

Kenzie's favorite thing to do first thing in the morning is to sit up and say "wake up guys" and continues to until we are awake.  She obviously doesn't understand what vacation means.   We got loaded up and went to breakfast and then headed to the water park.

It was fun.  We went around the lazy river a few times until Madi got tired and fussy.  I took her to the "beach" area and found us some chairs under a tree where she went right to sleep.  Kenzie and Scotty played in the wave pool for awhile and then she came up and played in the sand.  We left after a few hours and headed back to the hotel to swim some more.  It was pretty crowded and Madi wasn't having it so we didn't stay long.  Scotty and Kenzie went down the big slide.  I was surprised she actually went down.

She was so proud of herself for going down.  She kept saying "I did it all by myself".  It was so cute.  We headed upstairs to get showered and changed for dinner.  The girls looked so cute in their matching outfits.

I can't get Makenzie to stand still for a picture these days.  Luckily the little one will still smile for my pictures.  Dinner was amazing, Makenzie however was not.  She had the meltdown of all meltdowns.  There was no reasoning with her and she kept getting louder and louder.  Scotty took her outside while I finished paying.  When I went outside she was screaming and crying still and her daddy was PISSED.  We decided to forgo the pier like we were going to after dinner.  Instead we went back to the hotel and called it a night.  This morning we woke up bright and early to Kenzie's wake up call again.  We cuddled in bed for a little while until it was time to get up and head home.

The ride home was uneventful which was nice.  We left in a really bad storm but it cleared outside of Houston.  We made it home just in time for the Cowboys game.  I have officially lost my husband for the next 17 Sundays.  I got us unpacked and everything put away and then started unpacking moving boxes and trying to arrange things.  We are slowly getting there.  Korie came over while we were gone and painted Madison's room.  I'm so excited to see it all the way done.  We had such a great time on our vacation.

Family Vacation Part 2

Friday morning we slept in and then headed to breakfast around 10.  We had planned to go to the Palm Beach water park for the day.  I found a good groupon for it, so we packed all our stuff and headed that way.  After getting everything out of the car and packed on us like mules, and lugging both kids about a mile to the water park entrance, we were told it was a private party for the day and we couldn't go.  Whomp whomp.  We hiked back to the car and decided to go to the beach instead.

Madi loved the beach today.  I sat her on a towel down by Kenzie and she loved watching her and watching the waves come in.  She got sleepy and took a beach nap.  I was jealous, nothing better than a nap on the beach.  Makenzie did her thing and played with her toys down by the water.  Her and Scotty walked out in the waves and she had a blast.

Kenzie said she needed to poo poo so I put a swim diaper on her, thank god I packed one.  She had the hardest time going in it.  She kept saying "I'm a big girl and I don't poopoo in diapers".  I finally convinced her it was ok to go.  Poor girl.  We loaded up and went back to the hotel to clean up and then headed to our favorite pizza place for lunch.

We stopped for ice cream on the way back to the hotel and then we all laid down to take a nap.  Everyone except Kenzie.  She played with her babies and I listened to her for awhile talk to them.  She sounds just like me.  Things I tell her, she tells her babies.  I have to watch what I say and how I say things to her.  We got up and headed downstairs to swim.  On the way to the pool something caught Kenzie's eye and she said, "come here I show you somfhing".....it was racks full of the babies she likes.  (They are Ty stuffed animals).  We bargained with her that if she would swim by herself with her floaty then we would come back and she could pick one out.  It started out the same with her clinging to us and whining, so finally I just let her go.  She cried for a minute and then started laughing and said "I like this, don't hold me".  That girl I swear.  She swam the rest of the night by herself and didn't want anyone to touch her.  She was so proud of herself.
Madison floated around in her floaty all night.  She loves the water.  She would kick her little feet and look around and at the end she was kicked back with her feet tucked up and was in a trance floating around.

 We stopped and let Makenzie pick out a baby on the way back up the room.  She picked a dragon and was so proud of herself and showed everyone on the elevator her "new dragon for simmin by mysefh".  It was so cute.

We had a great second day on our vacation.
