Happy Father's Day

I am so lucky to have the best daddy in the whole world.  I look up to him in so many ways!!  He always has the best advice to give, or knows when to just listen.  He knows something about everything.  I know I can always ask him and he has the answer (most of the time the right one).  He is also the best Papa to Makenzie.  She loves him so much and already has her Papa wrapped around her little finger.

I am also lucky to have the best husband and daddy to my daughter.  He is so patient with Makenzie and loves her so much!  She is definitely a daddy's girl and I love seeing them together!!!

I cooked breakfast for Scotty this morning and we hung around then house until about 11:45.  Then we headed out to his parents house to visit for awhile.  Scotty's niece Savannah was there with her new baby--Makenzie loved him.

We had a nice visit and then headed to my parents house.  Austin and Jacob were there (Melanie and Caleb had gone camping).  We hung out and ate lunch.
We stopped and got snow cones on the way home, and just relaxed for the rest of the evening.  Scotty laid on the floor and Makenzie got her blanket and was covering him up and patting his back, it was really cute.
I'm sure she picked this up from daycare.  I bet they go around patting their backs at nap time and making them keep their heads down....hopefully they are softer to them than she is to her daddy!!!

Lions, tigers and bears....oh my

We didn't see any bears today but we did see a lot of other animals at the zoo!!  Makenzie and I went to the Dallas Zoo with Laura and Bella.  They have a season pass (that includes everything) so it was a nice treat.   Besides being a million degrees--it was super fun.  But seriously--it was a million degrees.  We packed a picnic lunch and ate at a picnic table in the gorilla exhibit.

These girls were sweet on the way there.  I saw Makenzie looking down and over at Bella from my rear view mirror and when I turned around they were holding hands!!!  Love that!!

Feeding the giraffes are always my favorite.   The first giraffe we fed had a broken jaw--so sad.  He still gobbled up our food though.  Makenzie loved it and wanted more food to feed them.

This cheetah was so cute.  He laid right in front of the window and kept rolling over and pressing his belly up on the glass.  His friend just a little bit over kept lunging for the glass at people--too much for us.  We preferred this "sweet" guy!!

We stopped and ate lunch after walking through the gorillas.  I packed peanut butter/jelly sandwiches, chips, grapes, watermelon, strawberry, cheese (of course) and water.  After we ate, I slathered on some more sunscreen on her and off we went.  (one time I sunburned Makenzie BAD.  We were at a football game watching Arielle cheer, it was cold'ish and cloudy.  I didn't put sunscreen on her because I didn't even think the sun was out, but being in those bleachers and the over cast sky--FRIED HER.  It was so bad.  No every time we go outside Scotty "reminds" me to put sunscreen on her.  Trust me, she will never get sun burnt again on my watch) After lunch I guess her belly was full because she kicked back in her chair and put her feet up on the tray and just enjoyed the ride--must be nice.

Her season pass includes unlimited rides on the carousel so we took a few rides!!  Makenzie wasn't too sure about it at first, but then loved it.

This poor poor camel didn't know what he was getting himself into.  Makenzie and I took a little camel ride.  It was pretty cool--not the most comfortable, but at least we can say we've ridden a camel (checked it off my list).
It must have been a successful trip because we had 2 very tired little girls on the ride home.  They both passed out not too far from leaving the parking lot!!!   We will definitely be back--maybe when it's cooler!!

We didn't get to come home after the zoo and nap like I wanted because we had a showing on the house.  We dropped Laura off and headed to Mimi and Papa's house.
We finally made it home about 7'ish and our bunny was out eating my flowers in the front yard when we pulled up so I let Makenzie watch/chase him for a little while.  We see him every morning before we leave for school.  I used to have to tell Makenzie "shh" so she wouldn't scare him off, but now she tells me to "shh".  I guess she caught on to me saying that the bunny likes mommy's flowers, because after she scared him off and he took cover behind our bushes, she picked handfuls of flowers and tossed them to him.  Such a sweet girl.  She finally ran him out of our bushes into the neighbors, but I'm sure he'll be back!!

Sweet summertime

We have been enjoying the start to our summer around the Smith household! We've been playing outside, blowing bubbles, taking walks, and swimming!!! Tonight we went to the pool with Koko, Dallas and Arielle! It has been so stinking hot around here the water felt like bath water! The kiddos had fun and then we came home and had dinner together!!
They held hands to go chase down some birds! Sweet cousins!
I know it looks like he's choking her out, but that's his "hold still" move he put on her so he could pour water on her! She loved ever second of it!
I have a little project I'm working on!!! Ill reveal the final product when it's done--very excited about it!!!

video recap

I wanted to post a few videos so I would have them to look back on later.  They are from a few days ago, but I haven't had a chance to sit down at my "real" computer, and my phone won't let me post videos.
This is her sassy arm when she walks.  I love watching her swing her little arm.  She is such a mess.
This is her on the way to Mimi and Papa's house Friday night.  We were practicing her saying everyones names.  She's got them all down....even Pipi.....(not funny mom)

This sweet girl was coloring a picture and when she realized it was an elephant, AKA an ellie, she leaned down and kissed it!!

I love this girl to pieces!!!

Weekend recap

Another weekend has passed again so quickly!!!  Saturday me and the little one went garage sale shopping!!!  I had been wanting to go so I figured I would chance taking Kenzie with me alone! She did pretty good for about an hour and a half!
I got her a fisher price high chair for her babies, a shopping cart, and a table with 4 chairs! Not a huge haul like I wanted but cute stuff!!! We came home and cleaned out the garage! I needed to sort the garage sale stuff from the storage stuff!
This was before, and I had already cleaned ALOT before I thought to take a picture!
We have so much more room now got my piles sorted!!!  It may not look organized, but it is!!! My little helper kept getting out all the toys and playing, but we still got it done!
We went to Cason's 4th birthday party after her nap! Kenzie had a blast and ran around like crazy! Her old babysitter was there--which she loved!  I can't ever peel her off of her when we see her!! And she loves playing with Brynlee!
That night we had a date night planned! Things didn't turn out as planned and we didn't have anyone to watch Kenzie so we stayed home and Scotty brought home dinner and we watched a Dateline we had recorded! Hot date!!!
Sunday we woke up early and Mimi and Papa came over to visit and then we went to brunch! They wanted Makenzie to come over and play so she rode home with them! Scotty and I drove around looking at houses and then went down to Kories to hang out with everyone! I met my parents later to pick up Makenzie and took her back over to play with Dallas! John made a delicious breakfast for dinner! I love when we all get to hang out and spend time as a "family"! We are so lucky to have the Poes and the Smiths in our lives!!!
Kenzie loves baby Presley! She kept rubbing her head and giving her kisses! She even got to feed her cereal at dinner time!!!  She's going to be such a great big sister one day!!

Friday funday

I picked up Makenzie and surprised her with a snow cone!!!  Ok--I cheated a little and got her a plain snow cone! It was her first one and I wasn't about to have that all over my car! Regardless--she loved it!
When we got home she helped me finish mine--she definitely liked mine better!! LOL

We decided to go visit Mimi and papa!! She had a blast of course! I got a cute video of her saying everyone's name--most Mimi/pipi!!  It's really funny! Makes my mom so mad!!!  I love it!  That girl runs around their house likes she owns it!!
She ran and got one of Papa's shoes and walked around in it! She thought she was hot stuff!!!  It was not fun trying to get her to leave to come home--she wanted to stay so bad!!!

She stayed up extra late tonight so I'm hoping she will sleep late so we can make it through 2 birthday parties--with no nap!!!  Wish us luck!

Shadows

We made plans to have Koko and Dallas come over for dinner, so we played outside and waited on them.  We ended up coming inside before they got here, but Makenzie discovered her shadow before we went inside.   She was playing with the flowers and the next thing I notice she was waving at herself on the ground.  I told her it was her shadow and told her to walk and it would follow her.  She thought it was so funny and ran all over the driveway watching her shadow the whole time.  Ahh to be young again and easily amused by our shadows!!!

We ate dinner standing at my counters with the crazy kids on top of the counters.  They are a mess!!!  They played really well together.  Lots of hugs and sharing--I was impressed.  Korie is the funniest friend I have.  She keeps me laughing non stop--over silly things too.  She is crazy and Kenzie just loves her.   We had a great time.  They left and it was bedtime.  My crazy girl was not ready!  She was wrestling me, and running around like a crazy person.  We face timed Mimi to tell her happy anniversary.  Her and my dad have been together 31 years.  They are such an inspiration to me and my marriage.  True lasting love does exist!!

She woke up a few times last night, so I'm exhausted this morning!!  (I always let her cry for a little while, normally she will go back to sleep, but when it becomes excessive I will go in there).  We left extra early since we were both awake and ready!!  She peepee'd on the potty this morning and was good while getting ready!!

TGIF--so ready for the weekend.  We have a super busy weekend planned.  2 birthday parties, a date night with my hubby, cleaning out storage and garage, and showing our house to potential buyer!!!
Yesterday her hair was OUT OF CONTROL.  I decided to try a pony tail.....

It lasted all day and was ADORABLE.  The back is still a little too short, but I used a little clippy to keep it up!!!  Love her!!!
