What we've up to lately

Thursday we had our doctors appt.  Scotty met me there after work and we got to see and hear our little peanut--it was amazing.  I had no idea we would be able to hear the heartbeat, we were just looking forward to seeing the little flicker of the heartbeat on the screen.  Makenzie and I met Korie at Cici's for dinner on the way home.  It was delicious and the kiddos did good. Afterwards, I had a brilliant idea to take Makenzie with me to the AT&T store to exchange my phone.  It was already 7:15 which was almost her bedtime anyways---disaster.  We waited for an hour for our turn.  I kept thinking that we should just leave, but then we'd already waited so long I didn't want it to be a waste of time.  Finally it was our turn.  I traded the Samsung in for the Iphone 5.  So much happier.  The other phone was too big, texting was hard, and I couldn't group text with my friends.  AND.....when I plugged the new phone up to itunes I restored from backup and got all my dates back that I had lost when I switched to the Samsung.  Hallelujah!!!  I am so relieved!! 

Friday I came home and packed an overnight bag for Makenzie.  I picked her up from school and we headed to Mimi and Papa's house.  She was spending the night with them because I had a hair appointment early on Saturday.  They took us out for dinner for my birthday.  Makenzie was such a ham--she was cracking us up!

 

I headed home after dinner and stopped to get groceries.  I took my time and went up and down every isle.  It was so nice to not have to be in a rush, plus we needed groceries BAD.  Mimi sent me pictures of her picking tomatoes out of their garden and playing.

 

 

I picked her up Saturday after my hair appt.  Finally got the OK from the doctor to get my roots done.  Woo hoo!  Mimi had french braided her hair and she looked adorable.

 

We came home and napped and then got ready to go to dinner with some friends to celebrate my birthday.  We went to my favorite place....Mi Cocina.

Korie and Lance came and so did Jessica and Eric with their kiddos, Ryliegh and Harper.  It was so much fun and delicious.  I missed having a mambo taxi (or limousine) but pretended my water was one!!



Guess What....

Makenzie is going to be a big sister!!!  We are so excited!!  I am 7 weeks today.  We are not "facebook official" yet, I will wait until we are 12 weeks, but this is my little place to journal and I am too excited not to document everything!! 
We found out on June 9th.  I had had a very vivid dream the night before about taking a pregnancy test and it being positive--it felt so weird.  I woke up a little unnerved so I took a test!!  Positive.  I was certain that I had the test upside down and I was seeing the control line, but nope!  Very positive.  I woke Scotty up and told him and he went to the store to get another test......still positive!!  We were in shock!! My parents came over that morning and we had already planned to go to brunch and they were so surprised when we told them!!  We had our first appointment on June 18th, but I wasn't far enough to see anything on the sonogram, so we went back again on June 27th and there it was.  It's how crazy how much shows up in just a week!

I am going to try my best and post weekly updates.  I have been pinning pregnancy chalkboards on pinterest and decided to make my own!!  (that's what my project was these last few weeks).

How Far Along: 7 weeks

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a blueberry.  About .04 oz and a little over half an inch long

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Nothing so far

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing all my normal clothes still.  Some shirts are getting a little tight around the boobies. 

Gender: We can't wait to find out!

Movement: Not yet, but I can't wait to feel those kicks

Sleep: I have been sleeping pretty good.  I wake up a few times a night to go to the bathroom.  I brought out my pregnancy pillow early and have been cuddling up to that.

What I miss: Mambo Taxi from MiCocina.  We went out tonight with some friends to celebrate my birthday at my favorite restaurant and I just had to sip my water!

Cravings: Ice water, fruit, pop sickles, snow cones.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing the babies heartbeat at our doctors appointment and seeing him/her on the sonogram.

It's my BIRTHDAY!!!

It's my birthday today!! yay!  It was a wonderful day!  After work, Makenzie and I went to the pool with Korie and Dallas and we met some other friends up there.  It was fun.  The babies played really good together!! They had a blast and even got to feed the ducks before we left.

Korie took me and Kenzie to Chick-fil-a for dinner and we came home and ate.  Scotty had gotten me a cake and had it in the fridge.  It was yummy!

 

On a sad note.  I'm so sick to my stomach over this.  Yesterday, I got a new phone for my birthday.  (I got a new Samsung galaxy S4, but taking it back to get the iphone 5--just not loving the samsung).  The AT&T worker had me email all my notes and passwords to myself before he wiped my phone clean, so I did.  Only to realize after we left the store and I still hadn't received the email that I remembered seeing "no service" in the top corner of my phone.  My notes is where I stored all the important dates.  Like every date that Makenzie had a first.  First tooth, first crawl, first sit, first word, first foods--EVERYTHING!!  Gone.   Makes me so sad!!!

Weekend recap

Another weekend has come and gone.  As I sit here blogging, I'm already dreading another long week of working!!!  We have been having so much fun around here, I just want to stay home and play with my sweet girl all day!!!

Friday, Mimi came over to spend the night.  We had so much fun!!!  We went outside and let Makenzie play in her pool.  She must have forgotten how much she hated it the other day because she LOVED it this time.

I LOVE this picture.  She loves her Mimi so much......pretty sure the feeling is mutual!  After Kenzie went to bed, mom and I worked on her birthday invitations.  We got them almost finished--just have a few more things to do!!!  I can't believe she is about to be 2.

Saturday we woke up and picked up Arielle to go garage sailing.  (Korie is out of town and Arielle was spending the day with us)

 We didn't stay out too long because Makenzie wasn't haven't it.  We came home and Kenz went home with Mimi so Arielle and I could go visit Jessica's new baby Harper.  She had her on Thursday and I had been dying to get up there to see her.  (Makenzie has had a little cough so I didn't want to bring her to the hospital).

 

She is so sweet.  Absolutely precious!!  Arielle and I picked up lunch on the way home and took it to my parents house and we all ate.  Both girls fell asleep on the way home.  LOL  I enjoyed the silent ride home!!

John and Shannon came over and spent the afternoon at our house.  They had sweet Presley and we all hung out and waited for Scotty and Lance to get off so we could go to dinner.

 

John let Makenzie drink his coke.  She must have known she's not supposed to because she kept her face in the cup and sucked it down!!  I gave her a ziplock baggie of her veggie sticks to snack on and she kept feeding them to John--probably at least 50.  He's so sweet and just ate every one of them.  At one point he pretended to be asleep and she kept putting them in his mouth and then would take her hand under his chin and close his mouth to make him chew!!  Shannon was looking up stuff on the computer and Kenzie was "helping".  She thought the screen was a touch screen like the ipad and kept messing with the screen or taking Shannon's fingers and pushing on the keyboard.  And.....look at her hair.  Real piggy tails.  After she woke up from her nap, she had pooped EVERYWHERE (thanks to all the juice boxes from her Mimi and Papa that morning) so she had to have a bath.  I had been wanting to try piggy tails but she always goes to bed after her bath so I never have.  This was the perfect opportunity.  She looked so adorable!!

I need to work on getting her part more precise....but hey it was my first time!!  We loaded up everyone and went to dinner at Edohana.  It was so yummy.

She stayed up until 9:30 so we figured we would get to sleep in this morning.....ummm no.....7 we were up.  We were so lazy today.  We literally laid on the couch and watched Makenzie demolish the house.  She ended up taking a morning nap....must be nice!!  Scotty and I watched HGTV ALL day and dreamed about our future house.  I got a little second wind and cleaned up our bedroom, and Makenzie helped.

I found her the most adorable vacuum and it makes noises just like a real vacuum.  It's really cute watching her vacuum. I made blueberry muffins and she demolished one....luckily she decided to eat in a laundry basket, which contained the mess.

We weren't so lucky containing the mess in the living room.  We cleaned it when she went down for a nap, and then 10 minutes after she woke up it was back to this.....

 

Scotty cooked out fajitas while Makenzie played in her pool and I tried to tan. It was so dang hot today!



We played the rest of the afternoon.  She cooked us food in her kitchen and fed us--over and over.  I caught her talking on her phone while she fed her baby....wonder if she was mimicking me!

Makenzie got a sucker today for telling Mama twice that she needed to go teetee.  Normally I'm just lucky if I catch it, but this time she actually told me.  She starts potty training tomorrow at her school.  They will take her every 30 minutes to the potty, and I will do the same thing while we are at home!  Praying for a speedy potty training experience. 

 

We met up with some family that came into town.  We went to an early dinner and visited with them.  It was nice to finally get out of the house after a long morning!!  I didn't get any pictures while we were there!! Boo

Swimming with Mama

We have had a busy week so far!  Lots of playing, swimming and staying up late!!!  Every night we have gotten caught up in what we were doing and bedtime got pushed way back!! 

Today we came home to play in the pool I just got Makenzie! I had Scotty blow it up this morning before work so it would be ready when we got home! I got her all slathered up in sunscreen and gave her the hose to fill it up--she loved it......until it was full and I turned the water off! She didn't want to sit in it or splash--nothing!

The bottom picture shows how bored and disgusted she was with the pool! I have to admit, it was a little lame, but I thought she would splash and play a "little" and I could lay out and tan, not so much!!  I decided since she already had sunscreen on we would head to the community pool and swim!  I told her Korie was there and the WHOLE way she said "Koko, I want Koko, mama! Koko" over and over! She loves her some Koko! We got there just as everyone was leaving, so me and Kenzie hung out and swam by ourselves! It was nice! She walks all over the toddler pool! I was sitting in the chair, but one time she lost her balance and fell over--luckily where she "sat" down the water came right up to her chin, but made me nervous so then I followed behind her the whole time! (I didn't want to freak out and scare her since she finally is playing in the pool). She had fun and a few little girls came up and asked her to play! It was so sweet! I tried telling them she was just 1 and still too little to do what they were doing, but they took her by the hand and walked with her! Kenzie tried to do what the big girls were doing--she even put her face in the water like they did, but only once--she didn't like that!

We came home for bath and dinner! Scotty brought home Louigis--yummy! It was a great night!!!
