Family Update

We have had a busy week so far and I wanted to do a recap.

Monday, I picked up Kirby after work from the vet's office (he had been boarded over the weekend while we were out of town).  His doctor said his glucose was still too high and we needed to up his dose to 3 units twice a day instead of just the 1 unit twice a day.  I'm getting very frustrated.  Not with Kirby, it's not his fault, but with the whole situation.  I want him to be healthy and I hate knowing that he's sick.  It's very sad to me.  I took him home and then picked up Korie and we met Shannon at a consignment sale in Plano.  We shopped until we dropped and got some really great stuff.
This is my shopping cart.  In my defense, Shannon's blue bag is resting on top with some of her stuff, but everything under, above and hanging on the side of the blue bag is mine.  I went over board as usual but you can't pass up on these deals.  Mom had picked up Makenzie and watched her until I got home but didn't want to give Kirby his shots, I don't blame her, so we rushed home so I could feed and give him his insulin.  It's like I have a newborn at home again that has to eat on a schedule.

Tuesday, Makenzie and I went to gymnastics.  Oh gymnastics.  I have a love/hate relationship with gymnastics.  I love the idea of gymnastics, and Makenzie being in a class setting and getting to play, but holy crap--it's way more work for me.  I always walk in expecting my child to behave and stand in line and wait her turn, but that just sets us up for failure.  She's 2 and she is not perfect and I try really hard to remember that.  She loves the beginning of the class which is jumping on the trampoline and playing in the pit(which is me throwing her in the pit because she doesn't like it in the pit so much--more so pulling the blocks out of the pit and stacking them).  After those two things we crash and burn.  They do a circle with stretching and little activities--she hates it.  And then is the "fun" obstacle course--she hates it.  She doesn't want to do any of it and ends up rolling around and crying.  I make her sit on the side so the other kids can participate instead of having to crawl over her flailing body.  When that doesn't work we move to the little room where you take you shoes off and she finishes her tantrum there and we walk back out--only to find out that class is over.  It's torture.  I moved her class to Saturday mornings at 9 and we are going to try that for a few weeks and see if it's any better and if not we are going to take a break until I'm not pregnant and she can focus for more that 20 minutes.  Wish us luck.  On a happier note, Makenzie told me she loved me back when tonight when I said "I love you" and Wednesday morning she said it for me video.  I love that sweet voice so much!

Wednesday, Korie and Dallas came over to play.  Those kids had so much fun.  They played and ran and danced so hard.

Tonight, Makenzie and I laid low and played.  It was a good night with no major meltdowns so I call it a success.  A lady came over and bought Makenzie's baby bedding that I had listed on a facebook site.  It was a little sad seeing it go, but I know I won't use it even if I have another girl--I'll want a new room.

This crazy girl was all smiles all night.  I love her so much.  I'm so lucky to be her mommy.

16 Weeks

How Far Along: 16 weeks 1 days

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an avocado.  About 5 inches long and about 3-5 ounces

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +2 pounds

Maternity Clothes: I am mostly wearing maternity shirts and "big girl" shorts or capris.  My scrubs are getting super tight in the tummy, but I'm trying to hold out a few weeks before I start wearing regular shirts to work.

Gender: I don't know if it's just because I think a baby boy would be so fun, and that's why I tend to only look at or think about boy things, or if it's a mommy feeling that I'm having a boy.  I did the same thing when I was pregnant with Makenzie, I only looked at girl things.

Movement: I can feel something really low.  It feels like little bubbles popping against the inside of my tummy.  I love it!!

Sleep: I have been sleeping all through the night.  It's awesome!

What I miss:  Not being able to sit in the hot tub while we were on vacation over the weekend.  I love sitting in the hot tub and had to sit on the side instead with just my legs in it.

Cravings: Still Mexican food and avocado.

Best Moment This Week: Going on vacation with my family and friends.  We had so much fun and it was probably the last vacation we will get before the new baby gets here.  We had so fun and the baby can say they've been at the beach before they were even born!!!

Galveston Part 2

Saturday morning I woke up to sweet snuggles from Kenzie again! I secretly loved her sleeping with us (don't worry, she's back to her bed as soon as we get home--we all want our own space).  Scotty got up and went and got us Sonic and we had a picnic in bed the we got ready and headed to the beach!
We had a blast again!  She loved it just as much as she did the day before! I think she played even harder!  She discovered how fun it is to chase after the birds and run up and down the beach!  She loved riding on her daddy's shoulders into the water!
We headed back to our room to get ready to meet the group for lunch!  We went to a pizza place that had the best pizza ever!
Dallas kept playing with Makenzie's pony tail--it was so funny watching his facial expressions!!
After lunch we went back to their hotel to swim! Their pool was way better than ours!  It was so fun!  They had a DJ playing great music and a swim up bar! I got a virgin Miami Vice and pretended it was full of alcohol!!  The pool went around in a circle around the bar and we would take Makenzie in her float around and she loved it!  A lady kept coming up saying how much she thought Makenzie was gorgeous, and talking to her! On one of her rounds she asked to hold her(as she was taking her from my arms) and of course my daughter, who knows no stranger, went right with her.  I of course stayed right with her, she was very nice and obviously had had too much to drink! She just kept gushing over Makenzie and when I tried to get her back.....Makenzie clung to her!  I pried her off and politely walked away! I appreciate you thinking my baby is adorable, but keep your hands off!!!  John rented a cabana for everyone and we went up and hung out in there to get a break from the sun!
We relaxed and ate snacks, the babies danced!  It was nice!  We got dressed and headed to dinner!  Makenzie and Dallas were so cute on the way down!  they held each others hands and then kissed.

This time we had Mexican food!

We all had to ride the horses out front!!! Dinner was good but we were all anxious to get back to the pool!  We went back and changed into our bathing suites and went back down to the pool!  We swam for a little while!  I didn't get to sit in the hot tub, which is my favorite part!!  Kenzie was more than ready to go to sleep so we called it a night and headed home!  She fell asleep before she was even buckled into her carseat! I carried her upstairs and she stayed asleep for the rest of the night!!! It was a wonderful night! Great family time and then wonderful friends and swimming!!!

This morning we woke up to rain and thundering! Glad we got our beach days in before the weather got bad!  We packed up and loaded the car and hit the road!  Kenzie watched her movie and was very good, for awhile! We stopped for lunch and then she fell asleep! When she woke up all Hell broke loose!  She cried for the last hour home!  Cried, growled, hyperventilated, snot everywhere, screamed--awful! I tried everything and then finally we just had to ignore it! It was torture!
My least favorite part of vacation is getting home and unpacked!  I finally got everything put away and all the laundry done!  Kenzie was excited to be home and play with her toys! I think she missed Kirby too...
Silly girl!!  We all miss Kirby and its so weird not having him sniffing around today!!

We had the best little vacation and already looking forward to our next one!!)

Galveston Part 1

We have been in Galveston since Thursday!  Our little family had the most wonderful time and made the best memories!

We left Thursday night after my baby appointment!  We ended up getting on the road about 7:30!  Scotty and I both were dreading the ride since it's a well know fact Makenzie HATES the car. Surprisingly, she did well! She had one break down and then watched Little Mermaid and went to sleep!  Everything was running smooth, until....Scotty got a speeding ticket!  We were 18 miles from our exit and coming up on midnight!  The trooper shined his light in her window and woke her up which scared her! We finally got to the hotel and got everything in and we all passed out!  Kenzie did really good and slept between us!  I woke up the next morning to her saying "hold you mama" with her little arms stretched out to me! I could wake up to that every morning!
We got up Friday morning and went to breakfast downstairs! It wasn't that great and we decided we'de go out the next morning!  Afterwards we headed up to change for the beach! Makenzie LOVED the beach!

She loved walking into the water!  She was fearless!  She would carry her little bucket around and then sit down and start digging in the sand! She loved looking for shells and putting them in her bucket!  She would pat the sand and say "sit mama" or "sit dada" and we would sit next to her and let the waves splash up on us!  It was perfect!  I loved seeing her little sandy booty cheeks running around!
We left the beach and headed back to the room to get ready for lunch! We decided on Rainforest Cafe and she loved it at first...
And then se remembered how tired she was, and......
Fell asleep at the table!  I held her and walked her out to the car, and carried her up to our room and laid her down and she slept through all of that! The next thing I see is....
The sleepyheads slept for about 2 hours and then we got ready for the beach again to meet up with The Poes and The Smiths!
We dug around in the sand and played for a little while!  We all headed back to our rooms and got ready for dinner! We decided on Fish Tails! It was yummy!
I love how both babies are looking up at Arielle! They love her!!!
We went back to our room after dinner and hung out and watched a little TV and then called it a night!  Kenzie snuggled me and went to bed pretty easy! I on the other hand got to listen to her slurp on her thumb and my sweet husband snore for a long time before I was finally able to go to sleep!!!  I love my little family!!!

Day one in Galveston was a success!

Poor Kirbydog

Well the verdict is diabetes!  Severe diabetes! His glucose level is 461 and the normal is around 100! The doctor said that's probably why he isn't eating because his sugar is so high and making him feel sick!  I went and picked up medicine, syringes, baby food, and $140 later we headed to the vet so he could show me how to give him his insulin shots twice a day!  He didn't even flinch or anything! I think I can handle it! We came home and I put some baby food on a plate and he ate it all!  Poor guy, he's got to be starving!!
Poor skinny boy!!!  I will do everything I can to make him feel better! He means so much to my little family and I couldn't imagine our lives without him!!!

Monday....

It's Monday...boo!  We had such a great weekend and we have a beach vacation this up coming weekend, so I need the next 3 days to hurry up!!
Yesterday the girls and I went to a consignment sale in Plano!  This one was smaller than the last but better we thought!  Afterwards we ran a few errands and had a yummy taco lunch! We stopped by Mimi and Papa's house to pick up Makenzie (papa came by to pick up Mimi and Makenzie so I could go to the sale) and then headed back to Korie's house for a delicious dinner and great friends!  Makenzie slept on her bed, like for real in her bed all night, Saturday and Sunday night!!! Yay! She is rocking the new room!!
Today, I woke up with another dang head cold! 4th one since being pregnant--so annoying!!  I had to take Kirby to the doctor today!  He has gotten so skinny and not eating, his hair is falling out and he's peeing all over my the house all of a sudden!  He went from 14 pounds last year down to 8! I couldn't believe it!  They drew blood and I had to catch urine when we got back(which was weird)! Hopefully we will get answers soon!
Kenzie eating at the new pub table! It fits the area perfect(it has 2 more chairs but I couldn't get one put together and didn't want to have 3).  She likes it and it worked so much better for us at dinner time!!

Night one a success....kinda

When I woke up this morning I couldn't see her in her bed on the monitor, so I snuck in to peek on her and could only see her little legs sticking out from her bed on the floor!
I'm not sure when she got on the floor, but I never heard a peep out of her--I call that a success!   I tucked her in tonight and she went down with no problem!  It's 11:30 and she's still in her bed so we'll see!

We had a very busy day today! We went to a birthday party at a bounce house place this morning!!  Kenzie had a blast and had us jumping and climbing and sliding the whole time!  Wore me out!!!

We stopped by Mimi's house on the way home and she ended up coming home with us to spend the night!  Kenzie never took a nap and instead "helped" up with everything we did today! We fixed up her room and had to rearrange and reassemble the baby furniture in the front room! We put together our new table and chairs, which ended up taking way longer than we thought!!  I'm exhausted and my back is killing me--I can barely stand up strait!!
Another busy day tomorrow!!!!
