Kenzie goes to 1st grade

Saturday morning I took the girls to get back to school haircuts.

We grabbed some lunch and then stopped off at the park to play for awhile.  Landon got to swing and LOVED it.  The girls had fun pushing him.

Madison found a painted rock so we rehid it on the way out.

Sunday night we got everything together and laid out for Kenzie to start school the next morning!  She was so excited!  She read "The night before first grade" and picked out her clothes!

The next morning we were up bright and early!  Kenzie was super excited and not nervous at all she said!  

She looked beautiful!  I walked her to school and inside to her classroom!

I met up with a bunch of moms for breakfast and mimosas!  We had a lot of fun!

There were a few more that didn't want in the picture since they had called in "sick" to work!  I was so anxious all day wondering how her day was!  The kids and I walked back up to school to pick her up at 3.  She said she had the best day ever!  We are excited for a great year in the first grade!  Poor bubba on the other hand had a tough day!  He started coughing, sneezing and got a runny nose!  He is also cutting another tooth on the bottom that I'm sure is hurting him.  By the end of the day he was pretty miserable!

I gave him a bath in his new duck bath!  He LOVED it.

I'm praying he gets to feeling better! 

2 week catch up

This is a catch up post from the past 2 weeks!  Yes 2 freaking weeks of not blogging. (I can see my moms eye roll now). We met Amber and Reid at Hobby lobby and this is how we showed up!  I was picking my battles and we survived!

I have been making hundreds, ok like 10 so far, of paper flowers for Ambers baby shower that is coming up!  

It is going to be super cute when they are all put together!  Kenzie spent the night with her friend Audrey and they did some late night swimming!

The next morning Madison and Landon came with me to run a few errands and then we played until Kenzie came home.

Audrey spent the night the next night with us!  It was her first time spending the night away from home with a friend so we wanted to make it extra fun.  We went to dinner, stopped and had ice cream and then played at the park before coming home to play legos and have a dance party before bed.

Sweetest thing ever!  I worked some that week while one of the nurses was on vacation!  It was nice getting out of the house alone and doing something productive!  Landon became a sitter.  

The kids and I have started taking walks in the evenings to the park to play!  They get to run off some energy and I get a little exercise in.

We joined a Facebook group called Rockwall Rocks!  It's so fun for the kids.  You paint and hide rocks around town!  If you find one somewhere you post a picture so whoever hid it knows it was found!  We found a few on our walk home.

The next day Bebe came over and we painted some rocks and took them around to hide them!  We found a few  too and rehid those.

Mom took the girls home with her to spend the night that night. Landon and I went to dinner with Heidi and Rob and then went back to their house to play games.  Scotty met us over there when he got off work.

Landon stayed up and partied with us and didn't go to bed until close to midnight! Mom sent some cute pictures of the girls while they were out shopping the next morning.

 I picked the girls up the next day and visited for a while since Scotty had a fantasy football meeting. The girls baked cookies with Bebe and Landon got to sample one.

This week I tried to take the girls to do something fun every day since it is the last week of summer.  Monday we went to Chuckee Cheese to play and have lunch.

We took our evening walk that night to the park and hid some rocks on our way.

(Kenzie hid her rock in the tree behind her).  Tuesday night we met Scotty at shenanigans after work to eat dinner, bowl and play games for a fun activity.

Wednesday we took a family walk to the park!  Madison got tired on the way and insisted on getting in the stroller with Landon!  Bubba is going to pass her up pretty soon, he looks huge compared to her.

Landon got his first bath in the sink after the park.

Thursday Kenzie had meet the teacher. Her best friend Audrey is in her class and she is so excited.

Friday morning the girls played in the rain while I was putting up groceries. Landon and I sat out there and watch them for a while.

After drying off we made a homemade chocolate chip cookies.

They were delicious. We spent the rest of the afternoon playing games and then headed to a friends house for a back to school swim party.

I didn't get any pictures there but it was so much fun.   It was another late night for all of us.   We had a wonderful last few weeks before school starts on Monday.
