Lazy day

We had a lazy day today!!!  I got Kenzie up and ready for school and got her and Scotty out the door!  I fed Madison and we snuggled in bed and napped until 12:30, it was great!!  We laid around the rest of the day and did nothing!  I didn't do laundry or dishes or even get out of my jammies! It was great!  We picked Kenzie up and saw Laura and Bella there and invited them to come play outside with us!  The weather was perfect today!
These girls were so cute!  They squealed and laughed and chased each other and wrestled on the trampoline!
Kenzie was obsessed with "flowers" AKA weeds!  She picked a million and brought them to me one by one and finally sat down at the picnic table with a huge heaping pile on top and picked off every petal! Madi slept the whole time and I was able to feed Kenzie and let her take a soak in the sink before she woke up!!  Right now both girls are sleeping and I'm relaxing before my up all night fun starts!! I dread the night time!  I guess I've become really attached to sleeping because the thought of waking up 2-3 times exhausts me just thinking about it!  If she ate and went back to sleep EASILY it wouldn't be so bad!  It takes her sometimes an hour and a half to settle back down and sleep!!
She's worth it though and I love our snuggles!!!

Formula change

We had such a restless night last night!  We were off to a good start by feeding her at 9 and she slept in her pack n play until about 1:30.  I got up and fed her and she was uncomfortable and fussy until after 4:30, so we got no sleep! I had to go to my work today to pick up formula and just decided to make her an appointment to go over her tummy issues!
She's growing good and the doctor said she looks perfect!  Her tummy was very gurgly and she could hear the gas.  We decided to change her formula to the one that contains no milk protein and we also put her on a reflux medicine because based off my story and a video I showed her of her eating, she may have some reflux! I sure hope this fixes her tummy issues and she gets more comfortable!

We picked up Makenzie and then went to Petsmart to get some food for Kirbydog to last him until he leaves on Sunday!  (I can't remember if I blogged about this or not, but Kirby will be going to a rescue shelter in Austin on Sunday!  It has just been too much lately and he is not doing so well health wise!  This Maltese rescue will take him with his diabetes and most important he will get more one on one attention than we can give him now!  I am so sad about this but I know it is the right decision for our family) Kenzie was such a good girl and walked while holding my hand or the buggy!  She got to look at the birdies and I was so proud of how she acted!

The evenings are hard when Scotty works late! Both girls were hungry at the same time plus Kirby needed to eat and have his shot! Kenzie needed a bath and Madison was tired! Whew!  Plus, I have had a headache for 5 days now so I had my neighbor that is a nurse practitioner come over and check my blood pressure! It was high at 132/90 so I'm not real sure what's going on with that!  Obviously I haven't been getting much sleep and could probably drink some more water!  I also haven't been wearing my glasses like normal since I haven't been working, so I wonder if it's my eyes....who knows!

Tuesday Snuggles

My day consisted of snuggling this sweet baby all day.  She really loves being snuggled up next to me.  She is getting a little bit spoiled but I can't help it. She has been having major gas issues and only will sleep for 20 minutes at a time and then will wake up screaming in pain while trying to pass gas.  If I snuggle her next to me she will sleep soundly, plus she is so sweet. I struggle with it because I know we shouldn't co-sleep and I know it's good for her to self sooth herself and sleep by herself, but I can't stand to see her in pain and the selfish side of me ends up grabbing her and putting her in bed with me so I can sleep.  We have to figure something out, but for today---we snuggled.  I had a list of things I wanted/needed to do today and I didn't do any of them. She is only little once and I'm soaking her in.

Makenzie has been really into singing songs lately.  Her favorites are Twinkle Twinkle and You are my sunshine and we sing them over and over.  Bebe got a song stuck in our head that she sings to Madison but I'm not sure of the name (Hey Hey Hey Madi, come out and play with me, and bring your sister Kenzie, climb up my apple tree, holler down my rain barrel, slide down my cellar door, and we'll be jolly friends, forever more, more, more, more, more) and I changed the names in it and Makenzie is obsessed with me singing it.

Catch up post

Wowsers! What a whirl wind week! 2 kids is no joke!!  We have been chugging along!  Kenzie has seemed to be adjusting a little better!  I stated bribing her with a sucker when I pick her up from school!  If she doesn't cry and walks like a big girl out to the car then she can eat her sucker on the way home!!  Whatever it takes to avoid that battle!!

Thursday we went to Korie's so the kids could play outside!
It was so windy though we couldn't stay long!! Kenzie loved Dallas' police car until he started driving! She screamed and cried and wanted out!!

Korie came by Friday to visit and sat with Madi while I took a LOOONG shower!  She has been so gassy and fussy that I haven't been able to take a good shower because I can't just listen to her scream while I'm in there!!  It was so nice!
We went to the park after school to play!!
Kenzie helped me push the stroller back to the car!!  Her favorite thing to do when Scotty gets home from work is to take his pen and name tag and wear them!
She said "I go to work like Daddy"

Saturday we packed up and headed to Bebe and Papa's house to celebrate Papa's birthday!!  We stopped at Starbucks and Kenzie decided she wanted a drink too....strawberries and cream...
Kenzie and I dropped off Madi and we went to pick out a cake and some candy and then went back to their house!
She was all about her Papa that day!  She helped him fix Madison's pack n play...
And Bebe got some lovin too...
Bebe came back home with us to spend the night!

Sunday morning Bebe, Madi and I went to a big consignment sale!
We split up and tagged team the sale and got great stuff!!  I took mom home and then headed home to rescue Scotty from Makenzie the Menace!  She was and had been a holy terror!  Scotty and I had the brilliant idea to take both kids to lunch!  I had been craving MiCocina and an ice cold beer!  DISASTER!  Kenzie showed her a**, my food was terrible, I cried(maybe my emotions are still crazy, but Makenzie is the only thing that makes me cry!  When she acts that way I get my feelings hurt and then I worry that we are doing something wrong!  It's hard to watch your sweet, perfect daughter act that way). Poor Scotty!  Madi slept the whole time thank god!  We all but ran out of there and decided to never ever do that again!! We continued the battle at home with Makenzie!  She had an early bath and then we gave Madison her first real bath!  She loved it and kicked back with one leg hanging over the side! I wish I had gotten a picture!

I noticed Kenzie is getting both her 2 year molars on the bottom! Poor girl kept reaching back in her mouth and made me think she had a cavity!

Pictures and doctor

Today was my first day having both girls by myself!  Let's just say that I have a horrible headache and ready for bed!  We started out early heading to the girls pictures!  Kenzie and Madi took a few together at first and then the rest were of Madison!  Kenzie did so good for the other 2 hours!  She played and watched Mickey on my phone---so good!  Madison stayed awake the whole time!  We could not get her to go to sleep!  She peed on the photographer, and she pooped 3 times!  Kenzie pooped 2 times!  I used all my diapers that I had brought and was panicked about hearing/smelling anymore poop!!!  I can't wait to see what shots she was able to get! Kenzie fell asleep on the way home for about 10 minutes but of course woke up and was over it when we got home!  Madi snoozed the whole way home--she had such a rough morning!!  I got them up and ready to go to the doctor so Kenzie could get a diaper rash looked at!   Turns out she has a yeast rash! Got some cream and we are good to go!! I had the doctor look at Madi's belly button too! I think it snagged on something during pictures and it looked nasty to me! She said it was barely hanging on and to use some alcohol on it to help dry it out!  We came home and I changed her c diaper and cleaned her belly button with alcohol and left her undressed to let it air dry!  When I burped her after her bottle I noticed the cord was gone! It had stuck to the burp cloth!
So nasty!!  Korie came over to visit and help me figure out some baby carriers!  I didn't like any of them and felt like I would need to hold her anyways to support her and make sure she didn't fall out.
Both girls are sleeping and I am on my way to bed myself!  It's been a long day!!

Madison's 2 week check up

Madison had her check up today!!  She will be 2 weeks on Thursday but we had to go today while Scotty was off work and could drive me!

She's big and healthy!  She weighed 9 pounds 5.5 ounces which is in the 75-90%, her length is 20 1/2 inches which is in the 50-75% and her head is 14 1/4 inches which is in the 50-75%.  The doctor says she looks perfect.  I brought in 2 poopy diapers to check for blood and they were both positive.  Boo.  That means that she does have a milk protein allergy.  We will change her formula to one that has more broken down milk proteins and recheck her poop in 3-4 weeks unless I see visible blood.  If it's negative then we can stay on this formula.  If that diaper is positive then we have to switch to a prescription formula.  I'm hoping we don't have to go that route.

At 2 weeks (almost) she is eating 3 ounces every 3-4 hours.  At night sometimes we sleep through my alarm and go about 5 hours.  The doctor said I don't have to set an alarm anymore since she is above her birth weight.  I can't wait to see how she does tonight.  During the day she has started staying awake after her bottles for about 30 minutes to an hour just depending on what we are doing.  If we are in the car she will sleep the whole time.  At night I have trouble getting her to back to sleep after her bottle.  She will push her pacifier out of her mouth and then get fussy until I push it back in.  This happens about 20 times until she finally falls asleep.  A few times I have brought her in bed with me and snuggled her and she goes right back to sleep.  It is so much easier to do it that way but I don't want to start a habit out of that.  She is such a sweet baby and isn't very fussy at all.  I love all the little faces that she makes.  We are so blessed to have this sweet baby.  We are all so in love with her!

A day of doctors

We had a busy day today.  We got Kenzie up and off to school and got ready to leave for the day.  I had my post c-section check up and Madison had her 2 week check up.  Scotty took us to my appointment and I was so excited to see my weight on the scale.  That never happens.  I gained 23 pounds while pregnant and today I had lost 34 pounds.  That's 11 pounds less that where I started at. Woo hoo.  I still have a LOOOONNGGG way to go but I'll take this jump start.  My doctor was happy with my progress and said everything looked perfect.  I got released to drive and to lift a little more and to take a real shower!!!  I'm so excited!!  We left there and headed to the mall to do a little shopping and get some lunch.  When we left this morning it was cold so I dressed her warm.  By the time we got to the mall it was 80 degrees.  The mall is outdoors and we thought she was getting too hot so we cut it short ans headed to her appointment!  I'll do another post on her appointment!

We picked up Kenzie on the way home and bribed her to be good and walk herself out to the car.  The sucker worked and she came out in a good mood!!  Scotty had to go to work for a little while, so us girls went in the backyard to play!
She would get so excited when she would catch the ball. It was so funny.  She would clap and cheer for me when I would catch it.
She also dances to her own music in her head!  I looked up and saw her busting a move!!  Goofball!!

We came inside for dinner and a bath and then headed to bed!  We had a good night and she was happy and only gave me a problem once!!
I have to get all my stuff together for pictures tomorrow!  It will be my first outing with both girls by myself!!

Sunday Funday

Scotty woke up early Sunday morning and cooked a big breakfast for us!  It smelled so good and was so nice to wake up to!  Miss Madison would not go back to sleep after her 1am feeding so I ended up swaddling her and cuddling her! I am so not a co-sleeper, I've never liked it and I still don't, but I was so tired and after an hour and a half of re-pushing in her paci while she was swinging I was up for anything!! We slept through my alarm and got up around 6 for her to eat again!  She went right back to bed cuddled up to me!
Mom and dad got us a new baby monitor for my baby shower that is amazing!  I can talk thru it, play lullabies, move the camera around, and other fun stuff!! There are 2 cameras and I can see both babies at the same time!  I could see Kenzie was awake from about 7 on and I thought Scotty would get her (I didn't know he was cooking). Since Madi was sleeping on me and I couldn't get up, I decided to try out the microphone to tell her to get up!  I said "Good morning baby, get your blanket and go in the living room with daddy".  She sat straight up in bed and looked around, grabbed her blanket and tried to open her door but I guess she couldn't get it so she ran back and started crying in her bed.  I ran in there and tried to explain that mommy can see her and talk to her and not to be scared!  I need to go in there with her and have Scotty talk to us so she knows not to be scared!!

We got mom loaded up and she headed home! I may or may not have cried like a baby when she left! She has been so amazing to stay with me this past week!! I already miss her like crazy!  We got ready and headed to Dallas' birthday party!!  It was at a cool place filled with tunnels and slides.
This was just half of it!  Scotty took her around and I sat with the baby! I can't believe that sweet boy is 3 already!  I love him to pieces! Poor Kenzie busted her lip! Scotty got her a juice and she was running back to me and ran right into a table that was the perfect height and she couldn't see it! I felt so bad! She bled a little but her teeth were fine! Two little splits, one on top and one on bottom!  We headed home and cleaned up around the house because we had some friends coming over for dinner!  Laura, Jason and Bella came over and brought an amazing dinner! It was so good and the company was even better!  The girls played and the mommys talked while the boys smoked a cigar!
Kenzie hadn't had a nap all day and was very ready for bed, so we called it a night and Scotty and I watched our show together and went to bed!  This was his first night to be in the bedroom with me and Madison since the hospital because my mom had been in there with me!  I can't wait to get into our own routine and get this girl on a schedule!

Bye bye to Bebe

Im very sad as I write this post tonight! This is the last night my mom will be staying with me!  She is going back home to my dad in the morning!  She has been my saving grace this week!  She came last Sunday night after we got home from the hospital and has stayed with me all week!  She has listened to me cry and my crazy emotions this week, she has cooked and cleaned and dealt with my bipolar 2 year old and she has snuggled my baby!  She will wake up and talk to me as I feed Madi in the middle of the night! More importantly--she's here!  Everything is better when your mom is here!! I love her and appreciate her more than she will ever know!!!

We laid around this morning in bed watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a long time this morning!
Kenzie and I ended up getting up while Bebe took a "nap".  We decided another trip to Target was needed!  We have been to Target almost everyday this week!!  Kenzie was in rare form again today! My sweet girl better come back quick!! Target wiped me out today!  Maybe I lifted more than I should have or pushing the heavy buggy around, but I was tired!
It's hard to shop with a 2 year old in the basket!  There was no room for my stuff and she kept trying to open everything!  All in all she was good in the store....thank goodness! Kenzie fell asleep in the car and I had my fingers crossed she would stay asleep when we got home, but no such luck!  A friend of mine from work came by and brought us dinner, it was delicious!  Bebe took Kenzie outside to jump for awhile but she ended up misbehaving and they came inside!
She isn't getting it that we aren't playing around!  There have been lots of time outs, and voices raised and I've counted to 3 so many times! She's pushing every boundary that we have!!

I have been feeling pretty good and moving around ok!  The pain is nothing (knock on wood) like what I thought it would be, and I think it has been much easier than Makenzie's delivery!  I'm nervous about next week and being on my own! I tend to over due things because I think I can do it myself! And Makenzie doesn't understand why I can't hold her or lift her in the bed!

Happy Valentines Day

It's amazing how just a little sleep can make you feel so much better!  Madison slept last night in her swing and did so good!  I fed her at 12:30 and she went right back to sleep right away and woke herself at 4:30 and went right back to sleep after a bottle and then I got up at 7:30 to get Kenzie ready for school!!
It's valentines day today and she is so excited for her party at school!!!
Mom helped me get taped up today so I could take a good shower and now I'm sitting here getting a much needed pedicure!!!

Yesterday I found a little blood in Madison's poopy diaper! I know from my work that it's probably a milk protein allergy!  Very frustrating!  It's an easy enough fix by changing her formula to a special formula that does't contain the milk protein!  The downside is it is super expensive!  Her doctor wants to watch it for a few days and then we will adress it at her 2 week check up on Tuesday! Fingers crossed it was a fluke thing and will turn out to be nothing!!
I attempted to take a few pictures yesterday but she was not a fan!  I meant to do it in the hospital, but it slipped my mind!

She's such a sweet girl!!!  Even sweeter since I got some sleep last night!!!

My dad came over tonight to visit and brought a delicious roast dinner for us!!  Scotty came home with my February birthstone charm!! I love it!!  We weren't supposed to do gifts for each other this year but I'm so glad he cheated because I couldn't wait to get my charm!!

Big smiles

Does this picture get any sweeter!!! Love love love those dimples!!

Mom and I ran a few errands today and met Korie and Dallas for lunch at Chilis! Little Miss slept the entire time we were gone!! I have been sitting in the back seat with her and I caught that sweet smile while we were out shopping!! We stopped and picked up Kenzie on the way home--that was a chore!  She was happy to see me and I tried to keep her excited about Madison and Bebe in the car, but she threw a mother of all fits because I couldn't/wouldn't pick her up and carry her out!  I'm not sure why this is still a battle for us!  She threw herself on the floor and cried and followed out behind me crying....so embarrassing! Then she showed her rear in the car on the way home and pretty much set the mood for the rest of the night! We got home and battled all night!  Lots of running around crying, from both of us!  I'm emotional and it hurts my feelings when she acts that way and I don't like when she acts like that or backtalks!! Korie came over and Kenzie was so mean!  At one point she was talking to me and mom tried to tell me something, and Kenzie ran over and out her little pointer finger in her face and said "no talking I'm talking to mama".  I thought I was going to die!  We have got to get her under control!  I don't know if it's a "two" thing or a "they brought home a new baby and I don't like it" thing!  Either way I'm going to go crazy next week without my mom!

We also gave Madi her first bath! She was not a fan!  We laid towels down between the sinks and filled one sink with soapy water and the other with clean water and scrubbed her down!!
As I blog this, my mom is pacing the room singing a made up song as she goes to Madison on her shoulder!  This baby doesn't cry all day, but at midnight and 4am she decides to get pissy after her bottles! It's going to be a LONG night!!
