OB check-up and winter cleaning

I had my OB check up Friday after work! I saw my regular doctors partner!  His practice likes for the patients to meet all the doctors incase they have to deliver for some reason!  He was super nice.  My official weight gain is +18, I gained 1 pound this last week (really 10days).  He says everything looks perfect and my weight is right on track! Madison is measuring about 34.5 weeks which is within normal range (I was 33.5 at that appointment and they give you + or - a week).

Saturday we woke up and made a trip to Target!  I have Kenzie spoiled, and the minute we pull in she says "I want popcorn".  Happy baby = longer shopping for mama.  I got the cutest matching bathing suits for the girls this summer and I think I found Madison's coming home outfit! We left there and had to run to Pet's Mart to get kirbydog food!  She loves looking at the birds and fish!  Poor kid! I hope she gets her fill of seeing the animals at the store because everyday I feel myself growing more and more anti-pet at the house.  I can't help but look forward to the day I don't have anything tying me to the house!  Don't get me wrong, I love my kirbydog and don't know how I will ever sleep again without him snuggled up next to my back every night, but his schedule is so demanding!

I finished taking down all the Christmas stuff while Kenzie played!  My house feels so much less cluttered not seeing little knick knacks laying around everywhere!  While she napped I Lysol'ed every toy that child has!  It also gave me the chance to go through and organize her toys!  When she woke up we headed out to Bebe and Papa's house.  Kenzie spent the night over there!  It's been a long time since she has spent the night and I miss the little nugget!
I got this picture before bed!  She loves her Bebe and Papa so much!

My friend Amy and her boyfriend James  came over and took down the Christmas lights.  I played the sad, helpless pregnant card and got him to put all my totes in the attic too!!!  Yay!  Christmas is over and my house and garage are back in order! I even went through the totes today and picked out things that weren't my favorite or that I wasn't or didn't decorate with and sold them all on a Facebook site!  Score!

Scotty and I were supposed to go have a date tonight but instead he worked a little late and brought us home dinner and we watched some TV!  Of course, on my one day to sleep in without a toddler alarm clock, I'm wide awake at 7am.   Guess I'll start the day off with some laundry!

Getting the house back in order

Kenzie woke up this morning still not feeling well!  My wonderful plan of taking her to school and getting a pedicure and relaxing and having the day to myself were very quickly unraveling!  That's ok, I want to be able to cuddle my girl when she's not feeling well!  I planned on taking her to the doctor when they opened at 4:30, so we played around the house and stayed in our Jammie's all day!  When Kenzie laid down for her nap, I got busy taking down the Christmas tree.  Our house felt like it was busting at the seams and toys were piled up on everything!  It looks "better" and at least the couches and coffee table are cleared off now!
I'm so excited about her little table!  I love it! It's so girly and fits that space perfectly!  It also matches Kenzie's room,  and I'm sure Madison's later on, and can go in there one day!  We still have some presents for her to open!

My dad came by and put a shelf in Madison's closet and also hung up a curtain rod!  Kenzie was so excited to wake up and see Papa at the house and to be able to "help" him!
I took Kenzie to the doctor and she has a double ear infection and strep throat!  I don't think the last infection she had ever went away!  They put her on a stronger antibiotic this time and I'm calling her ENT tomorrow to ask for some advice on why she keeps getting this!  Poor girl was pretty miserable by the time we finally got home! I dropped her prescription off at the pharmacy and we ran by James Avery to exchange the necklace chain Scotty got me and then went back to pick up the medicine! It was a huge fiasco at the pharmacy but finally we got HALF the prescription and I have to get the other half tomorrow!   She is finally in bed with her antibiotic and Advil on board!  Praying for a restful night and that she wakes up in a good mood!!!

Nick the Elf

Our Nick didn't do anything crazy this year!  I think he wanted Makenzie to get used to him being at our house every morning and wanted to save his wild shenanigans for when she was older and could understand and remember!  She had so much fun looking for him every morning and would go around the house and point at every place Nick had been before!
I think he was running out of places to sit and made lots of trips to the Christmas tree!  Kenzie liked seeing him tere the most anyways!!!  We can't wait to see him again next year!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!  We had such a wonderful Christmas.  We started it off by having the Smith side of the family over to celebrate Christmas Eve.  We are lucky enough that my parents and Korie's parents are close to the family and come over to celebrate too.

Grandma and Grandpa came with Destiny, and Korie and Lance came with Dallas and Arielle.  Angela and Gerald came with Randy and Savannah and baby Emmanuel.  Along with Bebe and Papa and Sue and Robby--we had a full house.  We all brought snacks and ate and visited and then dug into presents.

It was a late night and just as we were getting Makenzie into bed, her smoke detector in her room started beeping because of a low battery--are you kidding??  Of course we didn't have a spare battery but luckily Korie did.  Scotty went down and got it and finally Kenzie went to bed.  It was a late night for mommy and daddy but it looks like Makenzie was a good girl this year.  Santa was very good to her.   (I'm sure Santa was very upset that he didn't get to set up the trampoline for Makenzie.  I'm sure that was his plan all along so she could wake up and go outside to see it.  The weather didn't cooperate with him this year)

We got about half way through and stopped to play and rest.  Kenzie and Scotty were in her room playing so I laid down in my bed and watched them on the monitor and dozed off a little.  I woke up to a snoring husband and a crossways sleeping baby.  I got up and cleaned up the mess in the living room while they slept and then we got up and headed to Bebe and Papa's to have Christmas with them.

I bought this paper weight for my dad when I was in elementary school and every year I would re-wrap it and give it to him.  One year he ended up giving it to me and every year since then it has been passed back and forth between us.

Kenzie was very spoiled this year, and she still has more presents to unwrap here at the house.  My plan was to take her to school tomorrow (I'm off work but her school is open and paid for the week) and I was going to start taking down all the Christmas stuff and get our house back in order.  It is so clustered right now and we have no room for anything.  My dad is planning on coming over so we can get a shelf hung in Madison's closet.  Kenzie hasn't been acting herself this week.  She's been very whiny and crying at the drop of a hat and just very grumpy and mean.  Tonight before bed she complained of her left ear hurting and then when I laid her down she woke back up not long after and was crying and whining saying "boo boo".  I gave her some advil and got her to go to sleep but I'm already preparing myself for a sleepless night with her.  I think I may have to take her to the doctor tomorrow and get her ear looked at.  Poor baby.

We had a wonderful Christmas.  It is so true that it is even more special with kiddos.  Seeing the look on her face as she opened her gifts and how excited she would get when she saw what it was and immediately wanted every box opened so she could play with it.  I can't wait to have 2 babies to celebrate with next year.

Smith/Poe Family Christmas party

Sunday we packed up and headed to the Poe's for the day!  We all brought foods to cook and crafts to do while the boys watched football!  Kenzie started us out with a scare and did one of her breath holding things and passed out--scariest thing EVER!  (She had a toy in her mouth and Scotty took the toy and told her not to put stuff in her mouth and she turned to run away and tripped. I heard her cry but a weird cry and then nothing!  I was making sausage balls so I stopped and washed my hands and went to walk to where she was, and Scotty had already picked her up and was heading to me! Her face was blue, she was crying with no sound and her back was arched and body stuff! I took her from him and was "gently" rocking and shaking her--nothing, she wouldn't wake up! I panicked for a minute and said someone call 9-1-1 and everyone already had their phones out!  She let out a little wimper and then started crying!  I have never been so scared in my life!  Poor Scotty wouldn't let her out of his sight for the rest if the day!  I ended up googling all night about breath holding and everything was exactly like what she did and "normal".  I still don't like it.)

We had delicious foods and got some flowers made for Madison's room!
Then we opened some presents!  Kenzie got a super cute Doc McStuffin set and some pajamas and coloring set!
We loaded up and headed to Grand Prairie to the "Prairie Lights".
It was really neat!  We rode with John, Shannon and Presley and let the kids sit up front so they could see!  They could care less!  They had more fun climbing over everything and going from front to back, and crying! Kenzie peed through her pants and had to ride home pantless.  Maybe we'll come back without the kiddos!

I love starting traditions and making memories with my best friends, who are more like family!  We can fight and argue but always make up and I know truly they are my extended family and we are so blessed to have them to go through life with!

33 Weeks

How Far Along: 33 weeks

Size of baby: Madison is about the size of a honeydew.  She's almost 19 inches long and almost 5 pounds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I would guess around 20 pounds but I have a doctor appointment on Friday and will get the official weigh in.

Maternity Clothes: Full on maternity clothes.

Gender: GIRL  Madison Grace Smith

Movement: Painful movements.  Her sweet little kicks have turned painful.  She rolls, and kicks and punches.  I have started feeling her super, I mean SUPER low, and it hurts pretty bad.

Sleep: Not too bad this week.  I'm getting more and more tired throughout the day and just want to collapse by the time I get home, which of course Makenzie doesn't understand.

What I miss:  Bending, squatting and moving with ease.  Sneezing or coughing without peeing on myself (TMI I know), walking without getting a pain in my side, and lets not forget a nice cold beer or glass of wine.

Cravings: Ice cream.  Still orange sherbet.

Best Moment This Week: Korie and Shannon came over this past weekend and did so much in Madison's room.  It looks so good.  It finally looks like a baby's room.

Best friends to the rescue

Shannon and Korie came over with their kiddos and fixed Madison's room up!!  It looks so good!  Korie painted a tree on the wall above the bed and Shannon made a valance and a mobile for the bed.
These girls are amazing and did such a good job!  I'm so glad this sweet baby has a beautiful room to come home to!  Still have some things to do to finish it off and I can't wait to see how it turns out!  Tomorrow we are having our Smith/Poe Christmas party and have some crafts to do!
