Day ? Of quarantine

Our shelter in place order keeps getting pushed further and further out.  It is now until April 30th. We are still doing online classes and it seems like every week they are adding more and more assignments that need to get done.  We are still trying to go on a walk everyday and be outside but the rain slowed us down a few days.

Bebe and Papa came over to visit one day and it was so nice to see someone other than my kids and have an adult conversation.   This is how I spend most of my days.....

I caught Landon sitting by Madison with his arm around her.  He started saying “I love you Madi” “you’re my goose” and then I had him say “you’re my goosinator” and they all thought that was hilarious—except Madi.

Sunday, Autumn and I had to go to the grocery store and re-stock up for the week.  It is now recommended to wear a mask anytime you go out and stay 6” away from everyone.  It was surreal seeing everyone with masks and gloves on.

Kenzie’s math this week was fractions.  It about did us in.  We did a zoom call with her teacher one on one and she explained it to her/us.  This solidified that I am not supposed to be a teacher.  I don’t have the patience AT ALL!!  Madison got to do a zoom call too with her class. It’s cool that there is a way to still be able to visit as a class even if it is completely different than what they are used to.

I started working with Landon on writing his name.  He got the L down but then just wanted to scribble.

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was a good thing to save:

Coronavirus

If you had told me that we would be quarantined at home for weeks, schools shut down, and business closed.....I would have said you were crazy.  But no, that is what is happening right now.  It’s like we are living in a movie.  Towards the end of spring break we were notified that school would be canceled/on hold for awhile and that we would be doing classes at home online.   Learning the online program they use took some time to get used to but we survived our first week.  Our typical day is waking up around 8:30 and having breakfast, brushing teeth and getting dressed.  We start “school” around 9’ish and work until 11’ish and go on a walk.  Sometimes the kids walk and other times they will ride their bikes or scooters.  Max got to take his first walk and did really good on the leash.

Kenzie was missing her friends and drew a picture of her and all her besties on the playground at school.

We had one day that we called a “bad weather” day and stayed pool side.  I surprised the kids and threw them in the pool.  They were so surprised!!!  Autumn and I sat and supervised and decided we could count it as PE.

Luckily the weather has been nice and we have been able to go on lots of walks.  I have never seen so many people out walking in our neighborhood.  We have tried to spend as much time outside as we can.

Max decided to roll around on the sidewalk chalk and was multicolored for a few days.

Kenzie scared me one morning with a bad cut on her knuckle.  I was very close to taking her to get stitches but really didn’t want to go to the ER with everything that was going on.

We have also played lots of games!  I ordered a few more to add to our collection.

One afternoon Autumn and I had a babysitter come over while we ran to the store.  The husbands are working more than ever, which is weird considering what all is going on.  It’s hard to go to the store without the kids because all the stores have changed their hours and close early now.  We decided to come home and surprise attack them with water balloons.  They were shocked when the ran out to “help us unload groceries” and got pounded with water balloons instead.

It was a fun end to a long week.  Being stuck at home for this long and our normal day to day routines changed is starting  to take a toll on my anxiety.  I just try my best to keep the kids on a schedule and try to help them understand what is going on in the world but not scare them.  We are just doing our best around here.
