Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!!  A cold front came through today and froze us out for trick or treating.  I got the girls dressed as warm as I could in their costumes and we headed out.

My little elephant and cheetah looked so cute. We didn't stay out too long because we were all freezing.  Poor Madi's hands and cheeks were like ice.  Kenzie stayed out with her daddy and did some more trick or treating and the rest of us headed home to warm up.  Papa left to go home and Scotty had to go back to work so it was just us girls left.  We played in the playroom and handed out candy to all the trick or treaters.  Kenzie loved doing that just as much as her doing the trick or treating.  Bebe gave Madi her first sucker.  She LOVED it.  She had bubblegum slobber and stickiness everywhere.

It was a great Halloween.  Hopefully next year's will be warmer so we can do more!!!

Boo on Ballard

The little town I work in closes down the main street the day before Halloween and the whole city sets up and hands out candy.  It is huge and hundreds of people come.  Korie, her mom Sue and Dallas came and picked me and the girls up and we headed out there.  It was soooo crowded, almost overwhelmingly crowded.
Kenzie looked so cute in her costume.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  However, we did not end the night looking like this!!
She could hardly take 2 steps without scratching her chest to death, so I stuffed her top with another shirt I had in the diaper bag.  She wouldn't leave her trunk on because she couldn't see....she said, and her ears wouldn't stay on.  Oh well!!

Madi wore her cheetah outfit, but of course she ripped her ears off her headband.  We had wardrobe malfunctions all night.  She was perfectly content in her stroller the whole time people watching.  Someone gave her a twix bar and she chewed on it all night in the package.
Kenzie would walk right up to the people handing out candy and say "Trick or treat" so cute and then say "Thank you" and then run off to the next booth.  She's got the trick or treating down!

Halloween Carnival

Tonight Korie and I took the kids to a Halloween carnival at a local church.  It was so fun.  They had tons of games set up for the kids to play and buckets of candy at each booth for prizes.  We started out at the face painting booth.  Kenzie wasn't so sure about having her face painted but she allowed her to paint a pumpkin on her hand.
She was so proud of that pumpkin and kept her sleeve up all night so she could see it.  Next we moved on to the games.  Kenzie was so excited and played every game that we came too.

While Kenzie was playing games, her little sister sat smiling in her stroller the whole time never making a peep.
I love this picture.  You can see all 4 of her little teeth!!!  Shes's such a good baby.  The kids jumped in the bounce house for a while and then we went on a hay ride.
These 2 are so cute and love each other so much.  We had snacks and then headed back home.  Kenzie is on a candy high right now.  We have another carnival to go to tomorrow and then trick or treating on Friday......lots of candy at our house!!!

Sickies

Madi was up off and on all night last night and won't eat.  She had 11 ounces all day yesterday--not good.  Scotty brought her to my work so she could see the doctor today.  Double ear infection and strep throat!! BOO!  We got some antibiotics and headed home to do a strep test on her sister.  Of course she has strep too!!  I was able to get her to drink a little more tonight and she seemed to be in a better mood!!  I stood Madi up on one of her toys and she stood there like a big girl!!

She is getting to big and I don't like it!!  I got both girls in bed and I'm praying for a full nights sleep tonight....I'm exhausted.  (Pretty sure they shared their strep with their mommy)

Wagon ride

The weather was perfect tonight so we headed outside.  Kenzie rode her bike and then took us all on a walk down the street.  We loaded the kids up in the wagon and took a walk around the neighborhood and met a lot of neighbors on the way.  We are so excited about all the young kids in our area.  The girls are going to have so many playmates!!!

Scotty made it home just in time to go on our walk with us.  We had such a good time.  Now that it is getting cooler in the evenings I think we have found a new thing to do!!!

Shopping, snuggles and cleaning

Saturday the girls and I went shopping with Bebe.  I got some great stuff for the house.  We went to lunch and came home for naps.

My mom took the sweetest picture of Me and Madi napping.  She is such a good snuggler.  She scoots right up under my chin and falls right to sleep.  I love it.
After naps we moved the playroom into the middle section and got the front room set up to be my craft room.  I ordered a craft desk and am so excited to get it set up!!!  (and I found the perfect chair today that I am planning the whole room around) We loaded up and headed out to take Bebe home.
My heart is so happy watching them together.  Kenzie LOVES her Bebe so much, to the moon and back as she says, and Bebe loves her back even more.  Their bond is the sweetest thing ever.  We headed home and called it a night.  This morning we were up bright and early with the girls.  We had snuggle time and then Madi and I went on a coffee run while daddy and Kenzie made breakfast.  We all went outside and cleaned and organized the garage.  I made a huge pile of things to list and sell and threw away a ton of stuff/trash too!!!  Very proud of us!!!  My mom and dad came over and dad hung up the rest of the curtain rods and connected the new wifi to the printer.  The house is coming along little by little.  We lounged around a little while and then got busy cleaning some more.
This sweet girl has started to give kisses.  They are wide open  mouthed kisses and I love them!!!
Madi and I were invited to Kenzie's tea party and she requested her little sister sit in her baby doll high chair.  Madi loved it and Kenzie thought it was the greatest thing ever!!!  We ended the night with bubble baths and snuggles.

Madi has been teething something awful.  Friday night you could see 2 teeth on top barely peeking through her gums.  Saturday morning they had poked all the way through.  She has been very clingy and whiny this weekend and gnawing on everything.

Uncle Jerry and Tia come to town

TGIF.....this week has been a long one.  With both kids sick and me feeling crummy now too, I am so ready for the weekend.  Thursday we had dance and Kenzie looked so cute in her outfit.
We came home and had playtime in the playroom before bath and bed.  Madi is all over the place now that she can crawl.  She follows her sister around wherever she goes.  She will pick up whatever toy Kenzie lays down and of course puts it in her mouth.  Kenzie will take the toy from her and make a disgusted face and say "swobber".  It's so funny!!!

Tonight we went to Bebe and Papa's house after I picked up the girls.  Uncle Jerry and Tia Anita came to town to visit.  We met them for dinner and went back to Bebe's house to hang out.

Poor Madi was pretty miserable with her teething tonight.  She fought off her sleep until we got in the car to come home about 9:30.

Kenzie has been saying some of the funniest/cutest things lately.  Tonight when she was asked what she is going to be for Halloween, she replied "a chicken" and Madi is going to be a "genie".  Where does she come up with this stuff.  I don't think I have ever even said the word genie to her.  She has been telling me "you're the best mommy" alot lately.  I love it.  If I do something for her she will always say "thank you mommy, you're the best mommy".....melts my heart.  If she is good during the week we get donuts for our donut Friday.  She always wants pink, chocolate and "glitter", aka sprinkles.  They look at me like I'm crazy when I get up to order and say glitter when I forget.  Her Bebe taught her to say "I love you to the moon and back" and she tells me this every night before bed.  The other day in the car she was telling me the longest sentence ever and I nodded my head and said "uh huh" and she quit talking and said "mommy you have to wait your turn I talking"....I couldn't help but laugh....she was right!!  To get you to do what she wants, she will tell you to do it "because I love you".  She was riding her bike with her Bebe and told her "lets go down further, because I love you".  She keeps us laughing and on our toes for sure!!!  Love her to pieces.

Some Halloween Fun

The other night the doorbell rang kind of late and we opened the door to find no one there, but a little present on the doorstep.  We have been "booed".  They left us a plate of homemade cookies and a little Halloween poem.  So last night I had to bake some cookies and boo 2 of my neighbors that hadn't already been booed.
Korie and Dallas came over last night and we painted pumpkins.  They painted for a long time.  Surprisingly Kenzie's pumpkin didn't turn out the same brown/gray that her paintings normally do.

Korie and I cooked dinner, that the kids didn't even touch, and then they played.  Kenzie came back dressed up and said "here comes Princess Kenzie".....
Love those kiddos!!!  I got a surprise in the mail!!!  My blog book for last year came in.  I had waited on ordering it because it was expensive, but decided to finally just do it.  It's almost time to print out this years blog!!
I am so excited.  It will be so neat to have these later on to look back on.  It's like our family yearbook!!!

Sick baby

We ended our weekend with a very sick baby.  Madison was coughing so bad she was throwing up.  Her fever spiked up to 102 and she was miserable.  We decided just to hang out in our jammies all day.  Scotty went upstairs to his "man cave" and us girls went up to join him.  We were up there all day watching football and just hanging out together.  Kenzie made us quite a few tea parties.
When the girls went down for their naps I ran a few errands and got a pedicure.  I came home with lunch and we all watched the Cowboys win their football game.  Madison felt so bad last night that she fell asleep on her daddy.  She has never done this.  Poor girl.

Kenzie woke me up around 2am screaming bloody murder about a tiger.  I ran in there and she was holding her right arm frantically saying "tiger, tiger mommy".  I kept telling her there was no tiger and she would say over and over "get a paper towel".  I ran and got some toilet paper and she asked me to wipe it off, so I wiped her arm where she was holding it.  She rolled over and went back to sleep.  I'm guessing she had a nightmare about a tiger biting her.  Freaked me out and I was up the rest of the night!!!  Scotty brought Madison to my work to see the doctor today.  She looked so pitiful.  102 fever and coughing so much.  She tested positive for RSV and her lungs sounded junky.  We did a breathing treatment.....which she hated.  While holding her down for the doctor to look in her ears I saw all 4 top teeth have broken through.  Poor girl.  I left work and came home with her.  We snuggled in bed and took a 3 hour nap.  There is nothing better than taking a nap snuggling your baby.
We picked up Makenzie and came home and built a tent.  I worked really hard trying to get it right and the blankets held up.  She liked it for a whole 5 minutes.

Madison wants to do anything her big sister is doing.  Now that she is mobile she is able to chase her down and get her stuff.  After dinner we went outside to wait on daddy to get home.  Kenzie rode her bike and Madi and I watched.

We met the neighbors across the street.  They have a 3 year old little girl and a 2 year old little boy.  That makes 4 little girls by us that are all 3 and will get to grow up together.  I'm so excited!!

Scotty is staying home with Madison tomorrow and hopefully she will be feeling better and can go back to the sitter on Wednesday.
