Goodbye 2014

Happy New Years Eve!!!  This year has just flown by.  So many changes for our family this year and I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring.

I did some serious cleaning today.  The kids alternated their naps which isn't my favorite thing.  While Madi took her morning nap Kenzie and I went in the garage to straiten up the Christmas stuff.  I decided to go ahead and put the totes that were packed up back up in the attic.  I must have gone up and down the ladder about 20 times and my quads are feeling it tonight.  I forgot how much I love that feeling.  I have got to start working out again.  I love feeling sore and knowing that you worked your muscles.  I fixed Kenzie lunch and told her good job when she took a big bite and she nonchalantly said "I have my moments".  I died laughing.  Where does she come up with this stuff.  The girls and I played in the playroom and I put together Kenzie's little wagon she got for Christmas.

Kenzie insisted on pulling around her real life baby doll.  Poor Madi just goes along with whatever her sister does to her.  This kept them entertained for awhile.  While Kenzie took her nap, Madi and I played for a little bit.

She is always smiling.  Love that toothy grin.  I hung up some stuff around the house and played around with some picture frames and where I wanted to hang them.  I went into the living room to find Madi and saw her sucking down Kenzie's sippy cup.
Thank goodness it was just water.  New rule is no cups in the living room or anywhere Madi can reach.  Stinker is learning new things to do everyday!!  I made a delicious chicken enchilada soup and we had a nice family dinner.  This is rare so we all enjoyed it!!  The rest of the evening was spent hanging out in the living room watching the New Years countdown.
I laid Madi down around 8, so we snuck out into the garage and let Kenzie do a few sparklers.

Madi didn't sleep long and was back up around 8:45.  We all played in the living room until Scotty bailed about 10:30 to go to sleep.  The girls and I went into the playroom and played store with her new cash register.  I had her giggling so hard and I just love that.  I could listen to her sweet giggle all day!  The girls lasted until about 11:15 and no it's just me up ringing in the New Year.  I have so much to be thankful for this year.  Welcoming our new baby into our lives, selling our house and moving into our new house and quiting my job to stay home are just a few.  I love my family so much and cannot wait to make new memories in 2015.
Happy New Years!!!

Tuesday tidbits

Monday morning the girls and I headed out to do some errands.  It was freezing!!  When I put the car seats back in my car, I decided to put them next to each other just to try it out.  So far so good.  I have seen them holding hands, Kenzie helps feed her by giving her cheerios, she has fed her a bottle for me and is a wonderful paci and toy finder.

Kenzie had a serious play dough session when we got home.  She was rolling and cutting and squeezing it everywhere.  I wasn't a big play dough fan in the beginning but it keeps her totally content and quiet.
Korie and Dallas stopped  by and we decided to go to Hobby Lobby to shop some after Christmas sales.

Today the girls and I hung out at the house all day.  I cleaned and organized the kitchen and our bedroom.  I need to go room to room and do the same.  Time to get this house in shape.   Tonight Makenzie helped Madi walk.
I was nervous she was going to pull her arms off or something.  They both squealed and laughed the whole time though.  (Excuse the about to explode diaper)  I think Madi may walk early.  She does really good holding onto our fingers and walking.  She also has been standing up and letting go and she has really good balance.

We had a really good day today.  I'm loving staying home with my sweet babies all day.  The push my buttons and drive me crazy but my heart explodes when I hear them giggling together, or when Kenzie helps Madi do something or at night when we cuddle in my bed watching cartoons and Madi crawls up and snuggles up to Makenzie.  These are moments that I never want to miss.

*Makenzie has been telling me to take her picture randomly.  If she is playing, she will stop and say "take a picture of me".  After I do, she asks to see her picture.  If she doesn't like it she will tell me to take another one.  It is so cute.

Back home

Sunday morning we woke up early and hit the road back to Dallas.  Kenzie, Madi and I took a nap in the backseat.  I love falling asleep on a 5 hour car ride...makes the ride so much faster.

We got home and unpacked.  The house was a disaster.....their daddy definitely didn't go out of his way to pick up.  Later on I took Kenzie out front so she could ride her new motorcycle while I put the cars eats back in my car.

Apparently Santa didn't do a good job putting it together.  The back wheels kept falling off while she was riding it.  I felt really bad.  Back inside we went.  Madison decided she would climb up our stairs.  She scaled the first 2 steps when Scotty called me in to see.

She was so proud of herself and was actually really fast climbing up there.  We are in trouble now.  While I look for a "cute" baby gate, laundry baskets and totes will have to do.

Day 3

Saturday we woke up much more rested than the night before.  I drugged treated the girls "allergies" with some Benadryl and we slept like babies.  Aunt Jess made us a delicious breakfast and then we headed out to do some more shopping of course.  Center Point is limited, big time, on shopping choices.  Kenzie acted crazy, I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown, spent too much money....typical shopping trip with the girls (and my mom) (love you mom).  We met the guys at Chilis for a "snack" and then headed to Uncle Jerry's house to visit.  They got the girls a present which they wasted no time ripping into.

Uncle Jerry has a little puppy that the girls were in love with.  They crawled and chased after him.
We went out to dinner with them and Anita's daughters came too.  We had a big table and had fun visiting with everyone.  The girls were deliriously tired but hung in there.

We had a great day spent with family!  We headed home and got all our stuff packed up to leave the next morning.  Kenzie went outside and played with their dog, Dixie.  She loves dogs so much.  At one point she came inside and told me...."I don't have a dog so Dixie needs to come to my house because I don't have a dog".  Ummmm NO.

We ended the night with some oreos and rocking in the recliner.  The girls were so good this trip and it was nice to get away and spend time with family!!!

Day 2

Friday morning we got up and ready to meet Uncle Jerry and Tia Anita for breakfast.  It was delicious.

Madison has mastered the sippy cup and it keeps her entertained while we are out.  After breakfast all us girls went to the craft store.  I got lots of Christmas stuff on clearance.  Kenzie starts acting crazy when we go out with Bebe.  I think she knows she can get away with anything when she is around her, so she acts like a fool.  I finally  had to put Kenzie in the cart and Madi was crying, so.....
The guys met up with us and we sat on the porch of the craft store sitting in wooden swings.  The weather was perfect and we must have sat there a good 45 minutes talking.  I need one of these swings so bad.  Kenzie would push Madi in it and she would squeal and laugh.
We decided to make the drive to San Antonio to shop in REAL stores.  The girls went to Hobby Lobby and I got even more Christmas stuff on crazy sale.  When we were done, the guys still weren't back yet.  We were left with dad's truck with 2 car seats in the back.  That left 3 seats open for 4 adults.
We laughed so hard getting in the truck.  Mom thought she would get in the back, I would drive and Anita and Jess would share a seat in the front.  She got, ahem, stuck.  Jess tried next and couldn't get through so Anita got in the back.  Kenzie was giggling and said "that one got through".  We all died laughing.  I ended up in the floor board under Kenzie's feet and we drove to Target.  I forgot wipes for Madi.  Who goes on a trip with a baby and forgets wipes???  This was the only Target trip I have ever done in my whole life that I only purchased one item.  We got wipes and a slush and headed back out.
For some reason Uncle Jerry had a bunch of fold out chairs in the back of his truck.  They sat down while we visited some more and decided to grab lunch on the way back to Center Point. The rest of the night was spent hanging out.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!!  We woke up to a living room full of toys.  Our elf Nick must have told Santa how good they have been this year.

Madi would have been equally as happy with nothing but bows.  She mostly crawled around and collected all the bows.  Kenzie was so cute opening up presents.  She got tons of Frozen stuff and baby stuff.  She should be set for awhile.  Scotty spoiled me with a new laptop and perfume and some giftcards so I can go shopping and get some clothes.  (Bebe got me a sewing machine that I am so excited to start learning to use).  I got all our stuff packed up and Bebe and Papa came and picked me and the girls up.  We came to visit my aunts and uncles for the weekend.

These were my seatmates for the 5 hour drive.  They did really good for the trip down there.  Aunt Jess had us a nice Christmas dinner to eat when we got there and then the girls got to open MORE presents.

The girls and I got the back bedroom to ourselves.  I had Madi set up in the pack n play and Kenzie and I snuggled.  Madi woke up around 1am and of course woke her sister up.  Kenzie said "lets get up I'm not tired".  We were awake until around 3 and I am super tired again today!!

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve!!!  I can't believe it's already Christmas.  It seemed to sneak up on us.  I started the morning out deep cleaning.   I dusted, vacuumed and even wiped the base boards.  It felt good to open all the windows and do some cleaning.  We had Christmas movies playing in the background and the kids were playing.  Scotty got off work early and Bebe and Papa came over too.  We got dressed and headed out to dinner.

The girls were so sweet together!!  They had plenty of time to be.....we were there for 2.5 hours.  We got there right as they closed at 6 but I guess they were already so backed up and shorthanded.  We ended up getting our meal for free, which was nice.  We came back to our house and opened presents that Bebe and Papa brought over.

When I was in 4th grade I bought my dad a paperweight in Canton when I went.  For quite a few years I would re-wrap it and give it to him for Christmas and his birthday.  It became a joke between us and one year he stole it from me and wrapped it and gave it to me.  Every since then we have been alternating years to give it to each other.  Each time we try and wrap it a little different.  This year I wrote clues and made dad go on a scavenger hunt.  He was so cute when he found it.

Kenzie squealed and was so excited after every present she opened. It was so fun to watch.  She would help Madison open her presents too.

Kenzie was so excited to put out the reindeer food we made.  She sprinkled it all in one spot right by the driveway.  After cookies were set out for Santa it was time for the kiddos to go to bed so Santa could come.  (I heard Santa had a really hard time getting that pink motorcycle together and stayed up super late)
I heard something and peeked into the living room and saw Santa leaving presents.  I couldn't believe it.  Kenzie was so excited when I showed her the picture that I took!!!
